Any tips for cleaning up after Summit Point? I'm bringing waterless cleaning stuff and a bunch of microfiber towels.

If your tracking your car the waterless stuff will not work. Brake dust will be everywhere.

There is a do it yourself car wash across from the casino behind the Burger King.

83 County Rd 17

Charles Town, WV 25414

Also a full service car wash next to the grocery store. http://www.charlestownautowash.com

There will also be a vender there detailing cars if you want.

At Carlisle there is an area where you can wash your car for free. It may be busy.

It will undoubtedly be very busy. Be prepared to wait and share a hose with your neighbor when it is your turn to wash your car. I washed my car there once, and it water spotted something fierce!

I would recommend finding a DIY car wash in Carlisle and cleaning it up there. You'll do a better job, and won't feel rushed by everyone else who is waiting.

That all said, it's nice that Carlisle does provide the ability to wash your car on site if you choose to do so.

Suuuuuush!!!! :stop:

Don't jinx it....but yes, it's looking like the best weather in years! :sunny::thumbsup:

Did anyone doing the Summit point track event have to pay the $49 annual membership to HOD? The site won't let me finish order. Thanks...

Gator -

I spoke with 'my guy' at HOD. He asked that you double check you have clicked on the correct event and aren't mistakenly registering for a different event. The membership 'pop-up' should be disabled for our event, so you shouldn't even be seeing if.

If you are on the correct event registration, and you still are seeing it, you can decline or cancel it, and proceed with signing up....you DO NOT need to be an HOD to participate in our event.

Hmmmm maybe I should show up, that would be a sure way to bring a dark cloud

Would be great if you could join us, even if its just to stop by and say 'hello'.

I'll pack a rain jacket, just in case you surprise us.

Z-man,

I have an 07 vert without a roll bar and do not plan on racing on the track. I am very interested in the parade lap around the track as I believe this will be all I will be able to do? I was just hoping to do the parade lap and then participate in the car show and enjoy the festivities. Would this be something I can do without registering? I would just think registering for the car show?

There is no fee to join us at the track, watch the cars, and hang out for the day. You can do "day of" registration for our car show ($25.00), which will be taking place in the paddock area.

You may join us for the track photo and parade lap, but will need to sign a waiver before entering the track.

See you there!
