Vallejo Ca

Recommended Posts

Well long story short, we are now moving to Vallejo ca and no longer moving to Abilene TX. Anybody live in. Or around Vallejo? Good area? Thanks!

The upside, you'll be in the most active Shelby region in the nation....loads to do. So be sure to check the Pacific Coast region as our event calendar will be full this year.

Your just minutes from Sears Point where we will be having the NorCal SAAC Shelby Mini-Nats this august with drag and road racing....3 day!

While I don't know the actual town well even though I've driven through it more times than I can remember, (other than it went broke a few years ago, and that's where Jeff Gordon was born..lol) I think the nicer places are along 780 towards Benecia. (I'm guessing), but I'm sure you're realtor will point you in the right direction.

Motor on,

Tom

Do your homework. Vallejo has declared bankruptcy at least once in the past few years. The police dept has been gutted over this time period. There are plenty of nice places to live in the Bay Area, but $$$ is the bottom line like always.

Thanks! We will more than likely live on Travis AFB because I am active duty Air Force and the hospital has all the medical specialists that my family needs. I am in recruiting so my office will be in Vallejo. The Bay Area I couldn't afford so that one is out of the question. Thanks again I appreciate the info. Can't wait to get to Nor Cal and enjoy some good Shelby/car/motorcycle events.

Congrats on the draw of a great duty station! TAFB and DGMC are fantastic facilities (this from an USAF brat). Recommend that you look into Cordelia, Suisun, Green Valley or Benicia rather than Vallejo (or American Canyon). City has been sliding since the Navy abandoned Mare Island in the late 90's. If you must be in Vallejo, have your realtor give you a tour of Glen Cove.

Best of luck on your move and new assignment!

Thanks! My wife is from Elk Grove so we may even live there and I would commute an hour or so one way. It will all depend on if we can get into base housing in a decent time.

Nice to see a fellow Recruiter on here, however I recruit for the Army. Good luck and you'll love how rewarding recruiting can be.

Thanks brother. I have been in recruiting for almost four years now. Started in EA for two years now doing Line Officer and moving into a tier three spot as a flight chief (station commander for the Army) did my ea time in Santa Maria ca and currently in Lompoc ca for my lo time. Where are you located?

I'm at Fort Knox, KY as an Instructor at the Recruiting School. The school just moved here from Fort Jackson, SC and I came with it. Previously assigned to recruit in Rock Springs, Wyoming and Pocatello, Idaho
