TorchRed08
I have 08 GT500 with Borla cat back stinger exhaust an off road xpipes. Looking to add long tube headers and would like to stay with Borla but they advertised that the headers are for track or off road use only. I live in West Virginia so if I can't run Borla, does anyone have other suggestions?
Bruce49
Kooks Headers w catless H-pipe and KR mufflers (will need a flash to turn off dash lights). It will be obnoxiously loud. I warn you now...
08KR525
Do you have emissions testing? If not then I'd run whatever you want. I've read where the Dynatech LT are the easiest to install.
ViperNC
Better yet, do you have a friendly mechanic who has a certain blindness to catalytic converters? The GT500 will just about 100% pass the emissions without the cats, but upon visual inspection you need a friend.
Secondo
Fake look-real cats are available but some states (like mine, CT) check the computer to see if the Cats are "on" in the tune.
rdrawkit
Secondo does the state plug into your ob board to check if cats are on???
Secondo
Plugs into the OBD port under the dash. Showed me the entire readout. They know exactly what's going on with the car. No more shutting off the cats in n CT.
Shelby73
I have American Racing 1 7/8 LTH with their high flow cats, love them, and I'm DOT compliant. Legal eagle Mark
TorchRed08
Thanks everyone for your advice. I'm not worried about the emission testing so the cats must go. Dash lights are not a problem. I would like to reduce the restriction so getting rid of the cats should help. I want more rumble but I agree that the Kooks are obnoxious on the highway. They sound awesome in the driveway or garage. American racing sounds like a viable option but still leaning toward the Borlas to keep it the same. I'm assuming the two are tuned to work together. Thanks again
