A high school buddy of mine was taken off life support in Phoenix on 3/29 and he also was way too young. These events change your outlook on life. It's HARD to lose a close friend. I lost my best friend at 43. He was 40. I knew him longer than anyone else I know. His death completely changed my outlook on life. I think the biggest thing it changed is how the saying "Life is too short to sweat the small stuff" REALLY took on new meaning. That and, "You can't take it (money) with you".
