Woooooooooow....... Our 5th straight year of meeting up just keeps getting better, Scott. You and Cliff are the greatest. What a blast... North meets South. Thanks to all for such a great time. There are no words to described how special Frank's wife, Jean was on this trip. Looking forward to seeing you all at the 50th next year.

Sam. Jenny loves her Devil Bunny shirt.

Scott has the best video of the year coming up. Please post.

What a GREAT trip. Same as Jim, long exhausting trip home, but worth every minute. Will post more this weekend. While the roads were awesome driving, the friendships new and old are what made this an outstanding trip.

Frank,

Similiar Stats for me also,

Vic and I slowed down a bit (73 mph) after we left Don, pulled 21.7 MPG. But your right.

The trip was: Priceless.

:hysterical2:

I can confirm Jim does drive 78-80 MPH all the time, even when the speed limit is 70,65,60 or even 55, and also in road construction areas when is 45.

Some other interesting notes from yesterday....

As Jean and I left the hotel, there was an older gentleman looking at the GT-500. We started loading the trunk and he asked "when did they start making Shelbys again?" I responded, 2006. He then went on to tell us that he had been a member of Carroll Shelbys pit crew at the Bonneville Salt Flats in 1963. He said he thought they had raced Falcons that day and held a record for about 40 minutes before someone else beat them. I showed him the engine, told him 605HP and 20 MPG and he just started laughing saying they had half the HP and got 6 MPG. He was from California and was headed up to Cades Cove for the day.

As we neared Atlanta, we were passing a semi in the left lane....as we passed the cab the entire front of the car and windshield got sprayed with oil. Luckily I was smart enough not to hit the wipers! We took the next exit and J9 spotted a self serve car wash. I was paranoid the rest of the trip and gave a wide berth to any trucks with a red cab.

Clean up & detailing from this trip is going to take quite a while!

It was a long drive home but we also made it home without incident.

Was exhausted when we got home.

Will download pics this week and post some.

Welcome home, can't wait to hear about the trip.

A few weeks ago Scott came up with the idea of a dash plaque and Cliff and I thought it would be a great idea. So Scott did the layout ( THAT IS SCOTT'S SGT ) and Cliff had the connections to have them made. Hats off for a job well done.

Scott, it's time to post the video of the year. :lurk:

as a matter of fact "I DO OWN THE ROAD". LOL.

I bet that was when I had go-pro as I kept jumping into different lanes to get views of all the cars instead of just the back of Frank's.

Don,

Sorry for the confusion, I have the dash plaque (Thank you both)... I'm glad that Cliff had some extras made since I just showed up without confirming my attendance.

What I was jealous about was the second day of driving you guy's did on the Dragon that I missed out on! :shift:

Looks like you guys had a perfect day. That brings back memories of two wheeled fun on the Dragon. Wish I could have been there....

Here's one of the runs on the tail.

Thanks for the great video. It sure is deceiving though, we were going much faster than depicted on the screen. Even the hippie music seemed slow. Next video of the group from Cliff's car should be even better. :happy feet: Best is yet to come. :lurk:
