Installed Blendmount for my Escort Radar detector

The 2 items, the mount and the wire harness are kind of spendy ($110)....but it is a slick set up and there are no other cleaner installation methods.

Installed the "Blend mount" and wire tap into the RVM the other day, I have to agree it is the slickest set up.

The Valentine 1 on its first day out saved me... had a bogey over 2 miles out running radar, talk about early warning!! I was wondering where he was... direction indicator showed him up in front..... it seemed like it took forever it, but there he was, tucked in line with a group of cars coming the opposite direction!!! Nice.... had plenty of time to get her back down to speed..... I like it.!!!

Do you know if these work against the new Lidar? That's all they use out here in CA, and its a point and shoot, so they have your speed as soon as the detector goes off or so they say? There is an outfit that sells a scrambler for Lidar that confuses the signal since there isn't time to get warned, but is 2 grand. Don't want to do that if these will work?

This is what you need. It wires in under the floor board by where your left foot would be when you are sitting in the car. I had a stereo shop wire it in. They know exactly what wires to tap it into. Then you will be good to go.

I guess I'm just a cheap-skate. I've got a Cobra radar detector that does a very good job (so far) and I like to switch it from vehicle to vehicle. I got it out the other day to use in Mustang and the suction cups would not hold. So, taking a cue from another forum, I dropped by my local bicycle shop and picked up a couple of handle bar reflector mounts, attached them to my rear view mirror stem and hung a pair of cobra brackets from them. Painted the whole thing flat black and it's very unobtrusive, holds the detector steady, and costs about $5...........

I had about hit "the wall" with mods to my car but I do believe this will be the next mod! Going to do the truck at the same time (it probably has the potential to get me even more speeding tickets than the Shelby: 400HP, 800ftlb torque, STOCK!)
