FordRocks1
Cool and weird looking tires (Vredestein ultrac sessanta) but they do the trick- only had them for a day, so far so good. Also just had the Ingall's camber bolts installed so no more steering wheel shaking. Had the road force balance and alignment so it drives so much better now. These tires are quiet compared to the Toyo Proxes 4 that I had. Got these tires from a place out of Cali (forum hook up) at a killer price. I almost went with the Nitto Invos but at $282 a pop I went with the Vredesteins. Notice though how on one side the tread is going one direction and the other side opposite direction, I thought they all had to be going the same way but no, that's the way they were made according to Vredestein. I did my homework before purchasing these and read pretty good overall reviews before I pulled the trigger. Sorry about the crappy phone pics. Oh by the way these were made by Giugiaro Design, the same guy that made the mustang concept a few years back. The concept car by guigaro

RACERX009
I have to admit I have a tire fetish love the smell of fresh and burnt rubber. My mother inlaw was up here and went to use the laptop and she saw pages open to tire sites. She ask my wife if I need tires my wife said normal guys look at porn my husband looks at tires. But haven't seen that design before looks cool and good luck with them.

I'll keep everyone posted on how they are/perform. I won a set of Gears that I also need to install before hitting track.... I had the option of going 3.73 or 4.10 and sooo I picked the 4.10's. young768
I think that I would call BS on the direction of the tread. Mos treads on HP tires are directional so they work the same on both sides. Looks to me that they designed the tire and only made it going one direction so they will be different on the other side. Not only are the primary treads opposite, the sipes for moving water are in opposite directions. However, if they work, the work! Either way, they do look great! Trust me, I went nuts when I got to the dealer and saw mismatched patterns installed but the mech followed the instructions that came along with the tires. In addition the tires have instructions on the side wall that says to face a certain way when mounted. The car was aligned and tires were road force balanced, car drives straight with no pulling so the tread pattern are correct, weird but correct. I have yet to drive it through the rain so I'll report back when I do for I bought these because my car is DD and it rains quite a bit here in South Florida. Definitely let us know how they work out, especially in the rain. Do they say they are directional on the sidewall? I do think they look great, I just can't get around the treads being in opposite directions.

CobraCV here on the forums referred me to fairmount tire out of California. The person I dealt with directly was Brad Saunders, his email is brads@fairmounttire.com or you can call him at 323-750-2840 and make sure you ask for the Team Shelby discount. Brad has awesome customer service and fast reasonable shipping price, I will certainly do business with them again. You can look for your size at the Vredestein tire website http://www.vredestein.com/ I'm running 275/35/20 on the Rears and 255/35/20 on the fronts. FordRocks1
ok folks. I have emailed Vredestein about the tread patter and all is installed correct and they have sent this to me. Asymmetrical Tyres with an asymmetrical tread also exist. One example is the Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta. An asymmetric tyre has a tread pattern which differs on the inner side to that of the outer side and offers performance advantages. The tyre has markings on the sidewall to indicate which side of the tyre should face outwards and providing it is fitted this way to the wheel it can be fitted to either side of the vehicle as it is not sensitive to the direction of rotation. However, if fitted incorrectly with the outside facing inwards then the driving speed should be reduced until such time as the tyre can be correctly fitted, which should be at the earliest opportunity. figure 6 Inner section Outer section The inner tyre section has a “more open” tread than the outer section. The outer tyre section with the “less open” tread is intended for high traction on a dry road and road adherence in corners while the inner section has a “more open” tread. That results in an improved dispersion of water. As shown in figure 6, the number of groove openings in the footprint for water dispersion is four. This does not differs on the left side of the vehicle to that on the right side. The text “INNER SIDE” on these tyres helps to prevent that the tyres are fitted incorrectly. This means when the tyre has been fitted under the vehicle, the sidewall with the text “INNER SIDE” is not visible. Found another car running these tires it is a dodge srt-8, tires are installed like mine.

EL SHELBY
How about an update on how well the Vredesteins are working for you?
FordRocks1
How about an update on how well the Vredesteins are working for you? I am really impressed with these tires. Did about 4 drag racing events (maybe 5 runs each) and one road course test drive (about 4-5 laps at Sebring) and the rear tires are half way done, also keep in mind that this is my daily driver so not bad as far as longevity goes. Performance wise they are the best hands down this whole rainy season down here in Miami, I never hydroplaned or lost the rear when I was driving about 50-60 mph, although if you want them to break loose you could but that is just being reckless. Dry performance on the drag course I did not get too much traction due to the design of the tires, they are not meant for that kind of thing due to not having any flat patch/area to stick. On the road course they did fairly well, again, not something you'd want to push to the extreme on a road course but I can tell you I took down two other cars one being a stock GT500 but I think it was due to the driver not wanting to push his GT500. I can not tell you about tire noise because A. my SLP exhaust drowns it out and B. my music is up so I do not notice the tire noise. The front tires still look fairly new. I see that American Muscle now carries these Razors in 20X10 and I certainly would love to have a wider rear tire so I will look into it if Vreds makes a 305/315 tire. Overall, I am very satisfied with the looks and daily performance of these tires that will get another set when they go out if the price is still right. I am still hunting for a used set of SVT 18's for road course events but I only do about two if that a year due to school and work. Hope that helps if you have any other questions, post up and I will answer.
EL SHELBY
Thanks Chris. I'm in need of new front tires due to the natural camber of the SGT and a bad toe alignment. I have been shopping around looking for a good all around performance tire and remembered this thread. I haven't had much luck finding a retailer I trust that carries this tire but then I havent looked that hard. Best price I've seen online at some no name site was ~$200 for a 275/35/18 which is in line with the other brands in the segment. I may bolt up the OE wheels an tires for the winter and look a new tires before heading out to the Bash.

39Mustang
I'd be careful not testing them in the rain anywhere on I-95 as having the water tread on very inside of tire would make me nervous especially if you hit a puddle

Driving in the rain with a rear wheel drive car commands the outmost attention no matter white tires one has.
