Tim Pomp Posted October 18, 2018 Report Share Posted October 18, 2018 I called team Shelby and gave them the Vin on my 07 GT500 , I was told it was already registered, but when I look in line at other 07 Models , they don’t look like mine ? is there anyway to tell for sure if mine is a real Shelby GT500 ? and not that someone just added some badges ect to make it look like one. The Ford VIN specifically calls out what the car is. Are you talking about the Shelby number? If the prior owner was a Team Shelby member then it makes sense they already have this car listed. What are the things that look different? Maybe others have put some options, made some changes, etc. Or, since there are '07 Shelby GTs, and 40th Anniversary Shelby GT500s, those would have some different things than a GT500. If your vehicle is an authentic Shelby GT500 the 6th thru 8th digits of your VIN number will be 8 8 S for a GT500 coupe or 8 9 S for a GT500 convertible.
