BAD SNAKE
I have a friend who has the 2nd 427 engine ever built, it was the backup engine for the GT-40 sitting in the Shelby museum and he wants to sell it. Can anybody point him in the right direction on where to sell it and what he might get for it? Oh, it's still in the original box, never assembled. Thanks! Don Johnston
Sounds like a good item for the classic enthusiast collectors like those at SAAC. Unfortunately, the SAAC Forum is currently down for maintenance (like this one was awhile back), but should be up in a few weeks. For good money it will require documentation for the claims made for its history as the backup 427 for the GT40 program and 2nd built. The 427 was built and used in Ford cars before the GT40 program. What he said ^ Could it be that it is the "Back Up" Engine for the "Second" GT40 built?
Don Johnston
SAAC forum back up. Many of the members have documentation that be helpful in verifying or disputing the claim. TS is the prime source for later Shelby American verification.
