QuickSilverShelby
"Loaded with the most venom ever, the all-new Mustang Shelby® GT500® with its 700-plus horsepower supercharged V8 will be the most powerful street-legal production Ford ever." I thought the new FGT was the most powerful ever? QSS
Don Johnston
Ford GT twin turbo 6 is rated at 647 HP. New Mustang Shelby GT500 wins the horsepower bragging rights and costs a lot less!
svtkeith
It should be a screamer...Kudos to Ford for building this beast.

Two different worlds, but much respect between both. Wonder how the GT500 will stack up against the current Super Snake? That would be a much better comparison. And why is Ford stuck on black wheels? twobjshelbys
The new ford GT can't be compared to a mustang. the gt has more than enough hp to compete in it's class. in fact it is always choked back. put them in a track and guess which will win. Don Johnston
GT500: more horsepower, rear seat for kids, trunk for luggage., no purchase restrictions. Ford GT: ultimate eye candy and prestige as well as insane collector value. Both win in their respective categories and would appear well in any two car garage. Fantasy dream. Sure hope they can put that much hp to the ground in the mustang. AWD would help so who knows.
William Rodgers
AWD option would be outstanding, I don’t see it happening though. The problem with cars like the Hellcat is most of the time you can’t use the power, it’s mostly for bragging rights.

But you are correct that the Shelby GT500 continues to win the Ford production model horsepower wars.

Secondo
Looking forward to the new GT500! Looks like it won't be just a straight-line car with that rear spoiler, but a track beast like the new ZR1 Vette and Camaro ZL1.
