Evil08
I own a 2008 Gt500 , and at 1800rpm the yellow up arrow comes on on the dash instrument panel. What does that light mean and how can I take it off
sheppd01
I believe it is a shift light. Telling you when to shift for the best MPG. Having a tuner reprogram your cars computer is the only way that I know of.
thewheelman
Consider (with tongue firmly in cheek) that these cars, like all American cars, have to be tuned for maximum gas mileage: so, with a 5.4 liter, dual overhead cam, 32 valve, supercharged V8 our government determined that the drivers of these vehicles needed a reminder as to when to shift gears for maximum fuel economy. Apparently, without a specific tune, you cannot keep the light from reminding you. On the one all-out run I've made I swear it was blinking furiously about 125 mph!!! ViperNC
I believe you can change the RPM point in which the light turns on via the onboard settings menu.

BIKEBOY
I believe you can change the RPM point in which the light turns on via the onboard settings menu. Go into "settings" you can turn it AND the "beep" on or off, as well.
ilmor
Funny that a GT500 had these shift lights but the other Mustang models did not.

Imatk
Yeah you can't adjust the arrow... you can adjust the SVT shift light, but different thing entirely
SAI-Steven
Funny that a GT500 had these shift lights but the other Mustang models did not. The reason for that is because of the fuel mileage rating certification on the GT500 cars. Steve

John Guyer
Have you tried putting a piece of black electrical tape over it?
