Adam Campbell
Been reading about the pain of getting the car up and Grabbers posts and pics were perfect for what I want to do. Basically get the tires off and clean the undercarriage. Bought some Chemical Guys Bare Bones I would like to dress the wheel wells and all up with as I put the car up for winter. My question is what name scissor jacks would you guys recommend. Glad I read here before I put my floor jack under her. Thanks.
twobjshelbys
Why scissor? I'd recommend the aluminum low profile floor jack from Harbor Freight. Unlike most HF tools that are cheap and good enough for occasional light use, the floor jack is among the best. My mechanic friend uses them in his auto shop. It doesn't have the 'reach" that the bigger ones do but if you need clearance it's great.
Adam Campbell
I have the big orange and white HF floor jack. I will need to buy two because I want to take the car up evenly. Thanks I'll have to go by there and have a look at the one you talking about.
twobjshelbys
HF has scissor jacks too, just no experience with them. (No center lift - never mind) Edited November 26, 2016 by twobjshelbys
