Secondo
"2013 Shelby GT500 had the above mentioned parts installed to increase the power output, only to result in an engine failure. Further investigation of the engines internal components revealed that the factory hardware was not strong enough to handle the increased cylinder pressure. This information was unknown to the owner and the failure occurred during elevated acceleration in fourth gear." "This information was unknown to the owner..." Is he gonna take it in for warranty?? fotontom
Very valuable input. While I've not yet considered any serious mods, I might have in the future. Good to know this now!
Chicago Jake
I have the same mods on my 2013 Shelby. Motor just blew and cracked the block. I have 10,000 miles on the motor. Never abused it. Been down the track twice. Came out of know where. Be careful guys.
TheKurgan
This has always been the case. You gotta pay to play. Do it right the first time and build it from the bottom up, then you can start adding the boost and other power adders. It's not about how much you have abused it. A well built shortblock can take alot of abuse. A stock one is built for stock horsepower.

fotontom
There is an article in this month's issue of Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords that describes a whole slew of mods to strengthen the 5.8L Trinity for 1000+ whp. Needless to say it is megabucks... ...pistons, special studs and bolts, cam grinds, timing chains, adjustable cam sprockets, oil pump, driveshaft and much, much more. pilote
Oh yes anyway! Does that mean it's better to do it the slightest modification?
Altruism
No thank you...... my 750 crank horsepower 2014 SVT Shelby GT-500 is quite enough. 670 RWHP gets the job done just fine.
