99-9x
When people had the GT/SC conversion were any automatics done? Curious as to how many cars were converted in 5 speed and how many if any in 5 speed automatics. Edited August 30, 2016 by 99-9x
JeffJ
The GTH/SC cars like mine are automatics, and I've seen a few GT/SC's also with automatic, so yes there are some.

Curious as to how many cars were converted in 5 speed and how many if any in 5 speed automatics. I had my Barrett Jackson convertible automatic done. It was one of the first ones after the Paxton moratorium and before Ford blessed the Whipple as their own. Mine was a Kenne Bell. There was some statement that the horsepower was cut back on the convertibles but still 500+ was more than enough.
99-9x
THANKS I know the SC package included wheels and brakes, did SA do any upgrades to the auto trans? In the back of my mind l am thinking about having my 2007 SGT with 4000 miles done.Just trying to justify the cost. An auto would make it a little more unique l think. twobjshelbys
Mine was early on so did not include brakes, they were an extra add-on, but unless you're tracking the car (or they are free) don't bother. I don't recall wheels being part of the package. There were no changes to the automatic transmission.
JeffJ
No wheels were part of the package unless you upgraded brakes and wheels as an add on. As Tony states, no upgrades to the transmission.
39Mustang
Mine is an Automatic and part of the options were the Razor wheels, Baer/Shelby brakes all which were installed at factory I am actually upgrading to the 6R80 6spd Automatic as its far superior to the 5spd Auto
SWEDEMAN
Mine came with all those upgrades, as the original buyer had it maxed out including front & rear brake cooling ducts. The install on the brake ducts are incredible workmanship, it was not an easy job. I'm glad I have them though. Mileage: 1466 now.
Strawman
Mine is an auto, had the brakes and Razors done as an add on.
William Rodgers
Automatics were done, but when I got mine completed they would not put the higher HP units on the Automatics. I forgot exactly how much less it was, I recall 60-70 RWHP less then the units the put on the Manuals.
shelbytexan
It was 550 hp for 5 speeds and i believe 475 hp for automatics. This was engine hp not rwhp.

At least with the Kenne Bell I'm pretty sure it was 500hp for convertibles. Edited November 6, 2016 by twobjshelbys
39Mustang
Revenge is sweet... Ford will be finally adding the automatic to the GT350 even the GT500 if its built as its just a better transmission and much stronger than the manual. W or W/O the paddle shifters the automatic can just shift better then us humans and car shifting at the right moment is actually a big deal as far as performance goes. Some people will always prefer the manual but its god damn time people who want or need the automatic can finally drive the big snake
