Team Shelby – Pacific Coast Region in partnership with the Blackhawk Automotive Museum http://www.blackhawkmuseum.org/ (a Smithsonian affiliate) conveniently located in the San Francisco East Bay suburb of Danville, is excited to bring this 3rd annual charity event honoring the legacy of Carroll Shelby to NorCal “Powered by Ford” enthusiasts. This memorial car show will feature Shelby, Ford GT, Cobra, Tiger and Boss vehicles. Although show entry requires a nominal donation, spectator attendance is free to all. Special guest speaker Allen Grant is scheduled to attend. Some vehicle surprises from the Cobra Experience and Taormina Imports are in the works too. Tim McGrane, Executive Director of the Blackhawk Museum (and a former Barrett Jackson executive) will be on hand with Allen to help judge entries and issue some neat trophies!

RSVP’s and pre-payment of a charity donation of $35 per entered vehicle is required for this event being held on the lower plaza. 20 upper plaza reservations are available for a $50 charity donation (now sold out). Please use the GoFundMe link below to facilitate this transaction. When your payment is confirmed, this will be noted on the roster below. Donated entry fees will be shared with the Carroll Shelby Foundation http://www.shelby.com/?topic=csf and Wheels for Chairs http://www.wheelchairfoundation.org/ .

Payment Link: https://www.gofundme.com/7aut959m - Reservations are requested by Sunday May 1st. Thanks!

So mark your calendars and post-up if you’re interested in joining us with your entry - or as a spectator, for a great day at the Blackhawk Museum honoring Carroll Shelby with other “Powered by Ford” enthusiasts. Please note the year and model of your vehicle when replying so trophy categories / quantities can be determined in advance based upon expected attendance.

Note: For ease of editing, I’ll maintain the list of Memorial Classic car show entries in Post #2 immediately below.

The show starts at 10am and ends at 2pm. Owners entering their vehicles in the show should arrive by 9:00am to allow adequate time for staging, and if located on the upper plaza, will not be able to exit until sometime just after 2pm. Please note that parking at one edge of the plaza is sometimes subject to overspray from the water fountains in windy conditions, although this is rare. Also, there are several restaurants in the complex to enjoy lunch at.

The Blackhawk Automotive Museum is located at 3700 Blackhawk Plaza Circle, Danville, CA 94506

Here is an aerial view of the upper and lower plazas where the car show will take place and reserved spectator parking appears at the bottom.

Thanks,

This will be my first time at this event. Looking forward to a great event. Donation made via GOFUNDME. Forgot to indicate car when I paid, 2006 Shelby GT-H/SC

Harald,

As I recall, something came up last year that interrupted your plan to attend. Hopefully, that won't happen again!

It will be great to have H0050 on the Plaza. See you on May 7th.

Allen,

Great to hear from you!

I think you would really have a good time and it's relatively close to home.

Let me know. Thanks.

Jim,

I would like to attend again this year, are there only going to 20 cars on the upper plaza? Is the lower plaza the parking lot?

Thanks,

Mark

Mark,

This year I'm planning on 30 vehicles on the upper plaza because of a sculpture the Blackhawk's owner Ken Behring had installed on the plaza.

We might have room for a few more, but going forward, we're shifting the focus to the lower plaza so more enthusiasts can participate.

Which vehicle were you thinking of entering?

Robert,

Having your GLHS and Dakota in our 3A CSMC will be a very special treat for ALL Shelby enthusiasts and reminder of Carroll's profound influence on the automotive world.

I remember taking this picture at the first memorial at the SJMN in May of 2012. Maybe you can spot your 2 cars (and baby daughter). See you on May 7th!

Best,

Jim
