JayVT
Has anyone experienced this? Washed and detailed the car this weekend, hand washed the rims meticulously which is pretty tedious as you know, rinsed with copious amounts of water with a light fan spray. Took the car out @ and hour later and two warning lights were immediately illuminated. One was the traction control off warning and the other a near identical symbol ( I didn't check the manual) showing car symbol with tire streaks. Drove @ 10 miles and could not turn off the TC warning light with the button on center console, it had no effect. Decided to up the speed a little wanting to be cautious of any disaster.....at @ 80mph both lights went off & I regained manual control of TC....any ideas, maybe washing the rims? Have washed them many times before and no such issue. Thanks in advance.
Dave1968
Probably a little moisture in one of the connections to the wheel sensors. Whenever you start your vehicle the system does a complete diagnostic check - if it reads resistance or voltage values outside preset parameters it flags it. It will shut down systems or put them into a limp mode if it doesn't like what it sees. A little moisture in a connection and your values are outside acceptable limits and it can't operate properly. Once you went faster and dried it out everything came on - life is good again. lol.
