lancekelly727
I have seen two differing reports on how many Shelby Dakotas were produced. 860 red + 640 white = 1500 total 995 red + 480 white = 1475 total Which is correct?
sdac guy
My copy of the Shelby Dakota VIN listing shows 1500 dash plaques assigned. It shows 860 red ones. The remaining were shown as white ones, except it has 26 entries that do not have the color specified. Barry
lancekelly727
Thanks for the info Barry. Would it be possible for you to share that VIN listing?
sdac guy
Maybe sometime in the future, but not at this time. Sorry. I will do look-ups on specific vehicles for those that ask. Barry
lancekelly727
Thanks Barry. Are there any ideas where the other numbers (995 red + 480 white) may have come from? Seems odd that that such differing accounts exist. Lance
sdac guy
I have no idea. I don't know that I've ever heard of those totals before. Barry

Seems odd that that such differing accounts exist. Lance The Shelby American Registry contains all 1500 trucks along with another 1/2 dozen prototype & concept trucks. Where the above numbers came from is anyone's guess, perhaps they came from the same source as 1986 GLHS roll bars and 1988 Sunroofs Steve
glhs0075
Steve, any chance that we will ever have access to the Shelby American Registry? Something like the book that SAAC puts out, or even just numbers of registered cars?
