ShelbyGT5HUN
I can accept it being loud, but not to the point I can't stand driving the car. I feel a "muscle car", should be slightly obnoxious, and the exhaust note should be "felt", and not just heard, especially inside the car. I don't want the "open pipe Harley" ridiculousness sound though. Thanks!
pue174
Sounds like it would be perfect for you. You can always swap back if you don't like it
twobjshelbys
They are not obnoxious but throaty. The Shelby GT came with a x-pipe from FRPP.
stewarbc
1. I assume you don't have headers. Be careful, an off road X-Pipe with the headers can get really loud. Eliminating cats really opens it up. 2. Even without headers, it's going to sound more raspy and louder --- for sure. 3. I know you are asking about a GT500. The Shelby GT did come with an X-Pipe but not with high flow cats. Just the big canned cats...so not nearly as loud but a very good sound, nevertheless. When I installed headers, a high flow catted X-pipe, and FR500S mufflers on my Shelby GT, it got super loud and I love it! 4. I've heard some folks say off road pipes generate stronger exhaust odors too. A couple of other helpful threads for you below..... http://www.teamshelby.com/forums/index.php/topic/71922-x-pipe/?hl=offroad&do=findComment&comment=1233887 http://www.teamshelby.com/forums/index.php/topic/60337-lethal-performance-2011-gt500-3-offroad-x-pipe/?hl=offroad http://www.teamshelby.com/forums/index.php/topic/57421-h-or-x-pipe-in-2010-gt500/?hl=offroad&do=findComment&comment=981147
ShelbyGT5HUN
My car has the stock manifolds. It will just be an off road x pipe with the stock mufflers.

ShelbyGT5HUN
Go on youtube, they have audio/video clips Checked them all out, you can't get a frame of reference to the loudness though. That's why I think personal experience from those who have done it is more meaningful.
