T S - P C R Holiday Charity Cruise / S. F. Bay Area / Saturday 12-6-14

Recommended Posts

Post up if you're interested in joining us for our annual Team Shelby – Pacific Coast Region Christmas cruise. We’ve done this run for the past several years and had a great time. Our planned route is a 44 mile run from Saratoga to the Half Moon Bay harbor for lunch at the popular Half Moon Bay Brewing Company http://www.hmbbrewingco.com/. In cooperation with the Carroll Shelby Foundation (details to follow soon) this event will again include a stop at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford to drop off toys, gift cards or donations. Join us for a great cause and what will most likely be the last local cruise of the season. Although we need rain, keep your fingers crossed for fair weather on December 6th.

For ease of editing, I’ll maintain the roster of members attending in post #2 below. For an accurate head count, please note if you are +1, +2 and so on. See you then!

Jim

Here is where we'll be meeting in Saratoga. Let's plan on arriving around 9:30am and we'll head out at 10:00am.

14400 Big Basin Way, Saratoga, CA 95070 (behind the 76 Gas Station). There's a Starbucks across the street!

Here are the Google satellite and street view images of this location:

Hi Jim,

Anna and I will be there, looking forward to it!

Thanks,

Danny

Danny,

We're looking forward to having you and Anna joining us for this great event. As we get closer to the 6th, I'll post up some meet spots - but Bernal off I-680 will be one of them.

Hey Jim,

Count April and I in! It was a blast last year and the kids (and staff) at LPCH really seemed to enjoy it too.

We may have a +2 again as well, waiting on their response.

-- Les

Les,

It's great that you and April can join us again this year!

Last year was a blast and I fully expect this year to be just as rewarding. I spoke with reps from LPCH over the weekend and they are really excited to have Team Shelby coming to the medical center again this year. See you on the 6th.

Jim

PS: Let me know if the Red Rocket and crew will be joining us.

The weather report below for this Saturday looks promising. If you're on the fence about joining us, please try to decide by late this Thursday as I need to firm up our reservation at HMBBC before noon this Friday...

Also, the LPCH is still undergoing an expansion to serve growing numbers of children needing life saving medical services. These are the same type of young patients that Carroll Shelby formed his foundation to assist. Because they are still short on storage space this year, they have requested Gift Cards from the following retailers which will allow them to shop for age and gender appropriate toys, books, hobby items, etc. for their patients.

  • Amazon
  • Best Buy
  • iTunes
  • Target
  • Toys ‘R Us

Any gift card is very much appreciated. Gift cards in various denominations are commonly found in your local supermarket (Lucky, Safeway, etc.) which makes this mode of giving very convenient. If you would like to make a tax deductible contribution by check or credit card, please download and complete the form found at the LPFCH link here:

http://supportlpch.org/sites/default/files/PDFs/onlinedonationformnew.pdf

Enclose the completed form (and your check if applicable) in a sealed envelope addressed to LPFCH, with your name and address in the upper left corner. A donation receipt from the LPFCH will be returned by mail for your tax records.

I will have several wrapped gift boxes to place gift cards and envelopes in for a Christmas tree photo-op in the main lobby.

I'm hoping to also have several of the 2014 Shelby ornaments available for purchase. http://www.cscf.org/donate/holiday-tree-ornament/

See you this Saturday in Saratoga!

Hey Jim,

You can update my count, put me down for 2 + 1 Kid.

We'll be rocking the Fusion this time around.

Jared

Jared,

Great news to hear your family can join us. I've adjusted the roster. See you this Saturday in Saratoga.

Jim,

We are in rain or shine

Shelby or Explorer Sport

But do not worry about us slowing you down as the Explorer has surprised and taken down a few Bow Ties with its 365 horses.?

See you Saturday!!

Tom,

Like last year, it will be a game time call as to what I drive. If Mother Nature chooses to rain on our parade, that will actually be OK - we need as much as we can get.

In that case, I'll see if my new Fusion Hybrid DD can keep up with your EcoBoost. :) See you this Saturday in Saratoga!

Jim
