I am going to paint my front calipers so, I need to jack the car up to place jack stands under it. My question is If I use the Ford recommended lifting points for my floor jack, then how do I place my jack stands on the same lifting points? Are there other temporary lifting points? Thanks!

Doug,

There is the frame rail running front to back on both sides; that's what the jacking points are cut into. I just position my stand alongside the jack and lower onto the stand. Never had an issue.

Good luck with the paint project.

All the best,

Quinn

I jack mine 2007 up and then place floor jackstands under the lift points shown on this "Pre-Delivery Procedure"

I'm not positive that all S197 years are the same.

Hope this helps
