frazierfreud
Why is it that oil dipsticks can't be black and white? Where should the oil be on the stick when filled properly? There is a small hash marked section. There is also two small dots well above the hash marks. Anyone know?
Torched10
read page 232 in your manual---the hash marks are min and max points for oil
Bookwyrm
As Torched10 said, the top and bottom of the hash marks are the min/max for oil. From what I've read elsewhere, the dots are for factory use as an initial fill lines on cars equipped with the SVT Performance Pack to account for the extra ~1qt of oil that will generally be stuck in the oil cooler system and never be fully drained. I guess once the car is started the extra oil circulates and the oil will drop down into the hash.
Bookwyrm
The top line of the hash should be Full on any mustang -- between the lines on the hash is OK, and below the bottom line of the hash is Low.
