2014 Team Shelby Vegas Bash!

The dates will be Monday, April 14 - Wed, April 16, to dovetail nicely with the MCA's 50th Anniversary of Mustang Celebration: http://www.mustang50thbirthdaycelebration.com/vegas/index.html

Since the MCA's event contains a lot of track time, the Shelby Bash will not. We are focusing on cool cruises and perhaps a tour of one or more private auto collections here in our area. Of course, it will be many people's first chance to tour our new facility, including Production, the new Shelby Heritage Center, and our new Retail Store. I guarantee, you will notice the upgrade from our old facility!

The host hotel is South Point: http://www.southpointcasino.com/microsoftad.php?cid=psmicro

We are researching any possible Room Rate deals, but in case you don't want to wait!

Team Shelby's Regional Directors were all consulted, and this property was chosen in large part because they offer private parking areas with security for Team Shelby members' cars, and a spacious area to accommodate trailer rigs, etc.

Note: Shelby American's new facility has NO space for storing trailers or customer cars at any point during this event.

Keep in mind, we are now in the heart of Vegas, so everything is close by. If you have already booked Mandalay Bay, Luxor, MGM, etc... you are less than 5 minutes from us, and maybe 8 minutes from South Point. So the "host hotel" is a good rate, but no events will be held there, so booking there is not crucial.

The Shelby Run from Palm Springs to Las Vegas will be on Monday, and is being coordinated once again by Team Shelby Regional Director Michael McGuirk. See his post below for info, including details on the April 13th event that precedes it.

Survival Guide will be available ASAP, and ticket sales will open soon.

Both of these can only happen after we finalize the events and schedule. Team Shelby was brought back in-house on December 1st, during our move, and we have been giving it all the attention possible to ensure a great Bash, and to price the event as attractively as possible for our Members.

I will update this post as I get more info or answer questions, so no one has to scroll through multiple pages. Check this post first for updates.

Thanks, and GET EXCITED!

Jer

Yayyyyyy! Now I'm even more excited!!!! Just looking at the inital agenda and I am guessing that the last date should be April 16th,not the 15th. The car show at SA wouldn't clash with the scenic tour & Poker run I would imagine!

Awesome, thanks Michael,I'm sure that you have been kept ultra busy working on this....thanks!

The wife and I are looking forward to starting out in Palm Springs for the Bash and meeting you and all the other "Shelby fanatics!".

We are going to spend almost all of April at our holiday house in Phoenix so we can drive our car from there. (We live in B.C. Canada).

Are there any other TS members from Phoenix area who are going to attend the Bash and would like to cruise to Palm Springs together? It would be awesome to start out like that!

I've had an exceedingly good time at the 5 bash events I've attended but I gotta say my cars are not trailer queens, they LIKE to be driven hard and compete, heck they dont always *finish* the race but that's racing right?? If there's no track event, I'm gonna have to pass this year and hope that next year managment will remember what Mr Shelby and his teams built these cars for...

FYI - We are combining the track event with MCA this year. Track days are 4/17 thru 4/21 on the outside LVMS road course, which we used for the 2009/10 Shelby Bashes. All the usual suspects will be there!

register for the track at http://www.mustang50thbirthdaycelebration.com/vegas/registration.html

So I'm already signed up for the Mustang 50th - is there a link yet to buy my tickets to the Bash?

DC in Houston

MM - count us in for the ride from Palm Springs also - I'll contact you direct to see if there is any fees - can't remember one from last year other than the cost of the resort.

Yuppers, its all coming together.

Our lunch stop this year on the PS to LV cruise will be at Lake Havasu, so our drive will have a slight change of route from last year.

BASH #7 + Mustang 50th = EPIC

Thanx Michael & Jer (and everyone on point at SAI)

Awesome. A car week for sure.

Gentle reminder:

For those folks migrating to the MCA 50th after the BASH don't forget to consider the MORE Program at LV speedway. Gives you flexibility to come and go with reserved parking. If you park inside the race way, you will need to leave your car there from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm. MORE gives you some freedom. That said, check out this thread and PM me with your info if interested.

Post 12 has the list I have to date. March 15 is the deadline to get this to MCA staff.

Now that the Rolex 24 is done, I can dedicate more of my time to the Bash. I will once again be working with SA and staff on the car show Wednesday morning at the new digs. I will need some help however with check in the morning of, and parking that morning since my wife will not be there until Thursday. If anybody would like to help with that, please let me know as I'll be looking for volunteers from those who do not stay out too late Tuesday night! :kookie::hysterical:

I'm planning on trailering the GT-H out to Vegas from Colorado via I-70 on Sunday the 13th right now depending on road conditions.

I'd convoy with you but I'm planning to hit the Mojave Mile on that weekend so I'll be a few days ahead of you.

Hope to see you out there. My plans took a turn when my wife reminded me I have a DOG that limits my hotel choices so it looks like Motel 6 is in my future. Before that, my plan was to stay at Mandaly & So. Point/Pointe.

Question.....directed to anyone, not just Harald.

MCA is using the track outside the speedway for tracking your car........so if you are not in the MORE program and you registered for track.....

how do you get out to the track and then back in to the infield?

if you track, no infiield that day?

inquiring minds want to know....
