19X11 Forgestar F14 - Ok With 285/35/19 And 325/30/19?

I am ordering Forgestar F14s in 19x9 front and 19x11 rear for my 2011 GT500 Convertible.

I am going to run my Michelin Pilot A/S 3s 255/40/19 and 285/35/19 in the winter and then in the spring I am going to put on Michelin Pilot Super Sports

255/40/19 and 325/30/19 to try to harness the 600rwhp.

Has anybody run a 285/35 and/or a 325/30 on a 19x11 rim on their Stang?

Pics would be great.

It's all going to come down to offset.

At 11", you're going to be stretching 285's mighty wide despite being pretty-much right in the sweet spot for 325s. To keep the 325 sidewall within the fender width, any additional wheel width is going to have to come through additional offset. Although the wheels' position will remain static, stretching a 285 another 1.5" is likely to leave it looking a bit shrunken, while also slightly reducing the rear track.

For such a dramatic difference in widths and uses, I'd absolutely recommend maintaining two sets of wheels - whether you use the OE wheels for the A/S tires or buy a second set of Forgestar's in appropriate widths and offsets. It's also going to be much better for the tires, unless you plan on wearing through the PSSs quickly.

The 19x11 is a 56mm offset, the 19x10 is 42mm, if I go 19x10 305 is the limit, but the 285 would fit perfect, but I really want 325.

I called Michelin, Tire Rack, and the place I am buying the wheels from, they all said the 285/35 would fit fine on the 19x11

They will "fit fine" in terms of being within the makers' recommendations, but it's still going to result in a very different looking and riding setup especially on th rears which are an entirely different proposition.

I will start doing more google searches

Spoke to Forgestar yesterday....

They recommend a 305/30/19 on the 19x11 with no issues, but that is a 26.2 inch tire compared to 27" stock.

I would be losing sidewall and only gaining 0.8" in width over the 285/35/19.

Also, my gear ratio would become even more lower geared (higher numerically) and that combined with less sidewall would make traction even worse.

It seems the best compromise might be a 295/35/19, that gains me 0.4" width and a little more sidewall, but they are expensive and not recommended for a stock 9.5" rim.

No reason to buy a 19x11 rim if only running a 295.
I am looking at some used CF5s in 19x9 and 19x10 staggered, that would work.

My favorite rims are the SVE drifts in 19x9.5.
If the 295/35/19 fit on that I would just order them and be done with it.

The 2014' cars come with a 285 on a 9.5" wide wheel, I am sure a 295 would fit just fine. Who makes a 295/35 19"?

.

My 2011 has a 285/35/19 on a 9.5, but the 295 isn't worth adding sidewall flex.

I ended up ordering SVE Drifts in 19x9.5 today.

I am going to give my son my rims and tires for his 2005 Mustang GT in the Spring and I am going to run Michelin Pilot Super Sports 255/40/19 front and 285/35/19 rear.

Every winter my son will put his current rims back on and I'll put my stock rims with the Michelin Pilot A/S 3s back on.

His car is on 235/50/18 Pirelli All-Seasons right now.

The additional sidewall would be 35% of 10mm or 3.5 mm.

Maybe good for a smoother ride on rough roads and a bit more bite on quick launches.

Just MY opinion.

Your Car looks nice BTW.

Thanks...

Michelin does not recommend running the 295 on anything less than a 10 inch rim, so for that little extra I would rather play it safe.
