gt67
The last 40th that went through this action was in 2012 and sold for over $80,000 http://www.barrett-j...7&aid=443&pop=0 . Could this Black Vert with 5 miles on her do the same? Strange no CSM# and only pics before the 40th conversion. http://www.barrett-jackson.com/application/onlinesubmission/lotdetails.aspx?ln=837&aid=
NMAv
The interior shot is post conversion. Has the CMS plate on the dash (can't read it), gauge cluster, arm rest all indicative of the 2007 SS. I'm not familiar with the early SS conversions but is that a FR TVS supercharger (post conversion) under the hood?
twobjshelbys
From the lot number this will be a daytime car nothing special. Too bad he didn't drive it and get some smiles because a wrapped in plastic modified Mustang (that is all it is to most of the people at the auction) does not fund a retirement program. gt67
Good find Andy......... I guess this guy thinks he can turn a quick profit. Personally, I think he will but the question is, HOW MUCH???? We had quite the conversation on the last one that had solid gold internals. http://www.teamshelby.com/forums/index.php/topic/72441-barrett-jackson/page-

gt67
It was not a 40th. No badging, stripes, wheels, gauge pod. Bone stock car with 5 miles on it. "Only five miles on this limited production 2007 Shelby GT500 convertible. Built to succeed the SVT Cobra and celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the 1967 launch of Shelby's brutal GT500. At the heart is Shelby GT500's supercharged 5.4 Liter, 32-valve V8. Virtually brand new with 5 miles and never driven other than by the dealer and by Shelby Corporation for installation of the very rare and entire 40th Anniversary Edition upgrades bringing power output to 600hp. This impeccable 2007 Shelby GT500 convertible is consecutively numbered car 163. Complete with all statistics and dyno results confirming its power. Beautifully finished in triple black with silver striping and countless other upgrades, it is simply superb. Protective plastic is still in place and owner's manual is still sealed." I wonder if this buyer thought he was buying a 40th? I'm sure he now knows it wasn't. He just might have a way out because the ad clearly states the car was installed with the 40th package buy the Shelby Corporation. I thought something didn't smell right in my first post because the ad stated consecutive #163 and no pictures of the 40th installed on the car. I find the ad is misleading ( Shelby Corporation? ) but then again at that time, BJ only knew what was presented to them by the owner. Thanks Andy for the update. BTW: Anyone buying a 40th should check with Seve first.
