Button question on stearing wheel and upholstry question.

So LONG story short, I use cruise control a lot. This past weekend I noticed my "+ SET" button is getting worn. When dash lights are on I can see light starting to appear from the "worn" part of the button where I press most often. Is there any way to pop that off and replace it simply? Or is this going to be a massive production to take care of?

Second, I'm looking at my driver seat. Looks great BUT, it's of course getting the customary leather wear. Not scuffing or losing color or anything bad, just the leather crinkle stuff. Still soft and in GREAT condition, just does not "LOOK" new. So here is my thought, buy a seat from a user here on the forums that does not want theirs or buy new upholstry from Ford and keep it stored for replacement later when I feel its time.

Thoughts on the seat? Anyone have a seat for sale? Black with white stripes. What would one go for? Anyone seen the price of one sell? Or part number for the upholstry and price? Then I can just have a shop replace it if I just dont do it myself?

Thanks much,

Nic

You'll need to replace the switch assembly. Much easier to have a dealer do it.

Take your seat to a local leather specialist. Any worth his salt can likely steam smooth the seat. Otherwise, skins are VERY expense new and very few swap out their seats except through Shelby or affiliates.

Oh really? I had NO idea that they could steam leather smooth again..... whoa..... okay I will be making a call about that this week for sure because if anything that could be a stop gap and save off buying a new skin until 50k miles or something like that.

I think I found the skins on the Ford website and the drivers seat was something like $300 for headrest, back and bottom replacements. Will ask tomorrow at dealer when I check about replacement of the button.

I must have got royaly hosed. I could check but I think I gave around $450-500 freight and all for just the drivers back cover , from a very popular Nebraska ford dealer. My original is still on but looks tough for 13,000 miles. When it's real bad ill switch out.
