Bring out the BIG GUNS for this great open track day at one of the best tracks in the world, Laguna Seca. And they're giving us a 105bD day!

It is on Nov 29, yup, Black Friday...you could schlep around the outlet malls with your wife and mother-in-law, or better yet, join your friends for an EPIC track day

Here is the link to sign up.

Run groups are not big, so you'll get lots of open track at the open track....

The pic below is my son Taylor giving chase in the B2 around the Andretti Hairpin, awesome father/son day from the same event last year

Don't worry LAB you will have some company - both Spec Mustangs are in red group - I have to break in the diff and gearsets . Russ and I will keep you in our sights . That or next time tell them you want in red group and wrap your car in green . Then they will put you in the green weenie group .

I'm in :-) Just registered and paid! Yellow group. We're staying in Salinus. What time do we need to arrive at track? Is this event similar to the Shelby event at Spring Mountain Motorsports? Is food available or do we bring our own? Thanks, Tom

Gates open at 7:00 AM and you have a drivers meeting at 8:00 AM so get there between those times . Meeting is mandatory ! Bring food and drinks - the cafe may not be open but if that's the case they usually have a roach coach - if you bring food it's a safe bet on having something that you like to eat.

I can't make it to Sandy's Cafe - MMcGuirk and I are headed down to redneckgt's place to hook up to the trailer. MM is letting me tow with his new truck and JJ is driving my GT500 down . Russ has already gone down with his rig ( he's staying down in Monterey with his wife ). So I'll see you at the track in the AM . We'll be with the Borelli group in the paddock ( they are bringing 2 more SPEC MUSTANGS ) .

Fat Boss - glad you like the set up . The conditions at the track today were perfect , 70 degrees with a very slight breeze at a world class facility .

The car performed great. The watts link helped the car noticeably. The nut behind the wheel could have used a bit of tightening up at times! There was this really fast Camaro (I know, an oxymoron..) that passed me then locked them up going into the corkscrew which kind of messed up my line (ok my concentration!) and I was about 20 feet late going into the screw! That and a couple of times coming in too hot into turn 2 make for some puckering times. But, I kept it on the track and had a great day with my friends so what more could I ask for?

Next up: ball joints, tie rod ends, and some sway bar attention.

Oh and Holy Skid Marks Batman! That Vette driver must not have been to Laguna Seca before. He skidded halfway from 5 to 6 all the way into the gravel and nearly to the fence! I'm surprised the car wasn't really damaged from what I could tell. He'll likely go to the T.D. school of rock and pebble removal for the next couple of years though. :drop:

Redneckgt, great pics especially #3 with my GT350 in the midst of the race. Oops, it was not a race ;-) Gooch and his school car are awesome! Did anyone see the vette go off in turn 6? My wife was a passenger with an instructor and had a thrill...especially when the steering wheel popped off at turn 6! Good thing for sand pits ;-) We both had an awesome awesome awesome time!!! A huge thanks to Dave (NorCal Shelby Instructor) for driving with me, showing me proper lines, and taking me out in his race car! Mike McGuirk, thanks for wrenching on my car! BTW, the orange Camaro with black stripe is a 3000# 611hp full race prepared car. You did a good job of holding him off with your "stock" street Shelby. Ha! Great track, great people, great time!!!
