Denstang65
Thought of a little project for my car. To give more of a period correct HIPO air cleaner, I painted the bottom of the air cleaner Gold. I liked the way it turned out. Sometimes its the little things that we add to our cars that gives it that detailed look we want.

MY500SS
What year is the Shelby? I believe gold was used in 1965. That's what I've read. Blue started in 1966 I believe.
Denstang65
You both are correct. In 1965, the engines were black with gold valve covers and air cleaners, hence the gold bottom for the hipo air cleaner. In 1966, ford blue engines with blue trim, the bottom of the hipo air cleaners being blue.
