19again Posted September 7, 2013 Report Share Posted September 7, 2013 This could present a couple opportunities for some club gatherings and/or a group drive from Chicago to RA: The 50th Anniversary of the Ford Mustang will be celebrated at the 2014 Hawk at Road America with Brian Redman, scheduled for July 17-20 at the famous 4-mile, 14-turn Road America road course in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. One of the largest vintage race car gatherings in the United States, activities at the mid-summer Hawk at Road America include the Nationwide Insurance Concours dElegance on Friday and Saturday along the streets of Elkhart Lake, as well as the thundering Historic Can-Am race with a strong field of cars expected to gather in celebration of Can-Ams 48th Anniversary. The HAWK with Brian Redman is a great weekend for hundreds of vintage racers and thousands of fans every year, plus the Ford Mustang is an excellent featured marque for us in 2014, stated George Bruggenthies, president and general manager of Road America. Road America is very proud to pay tribute to Ford and usher in the Mustangs 50th anniversary celebration with a racers reunion, races for club and pro series-vintage, historic and contemporary racers. We are equally excited to have Nationwide Insurance hosting the Concours dElegance in downtown Elkhart Lake with expert and peoples choice awards, plus track touring, parade laps and a vendor marketplace making the 2014 HAWK with Brian Redman an event that everyone of all ages can enjoy, continued Bruggenthies.
