pgodden
I have been in the process of detailing the Shelby, man it looks good, anyway the one thing I am having trouble with is the hood vent/scoop thing, first of what does one call it? It seems to be a dark grey as opposed to black and stands out against the stripes. is this correct? Anyway, I applied some Adams VRT treatment to it and is seemed to discolor it somewhat, it is a strange material and seems very porous, can anyone shed some light on cleaning and what this material actually is? IngotSilverSnake
Not sure what year car you have. The heat extractor on my 2012 is black plastic. I use Liquid Glass Protectant on it and it always looks new (better than new actually). Lasts about 3 months. http://www.autobarn.net/liqglasconch.html
barspen
I use Meguiar's Ultimate Black Plastic Restorer cream (http://www.amazon.com/Meguiars-G15812-Ultimate-Plastic-Restorer/dp/B0055PD1H4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1378150378&sr=8-1&keywords=meguiars+black+plastic+restorer) and use a q-tip to get the diamond shaped groves on the heat extractor. It is also good for all the plastic trim around the outside of the car and shines up the rubber heater hoses under the hood. Restores the color to a wet black verses a dull grey. RedruM
The 2014 extractor on my ruby red is the same exact thing. It's not black. Haven't had the car long enough to fade. I believe it is gray and porous. Don't expect it to be deep black
