08 KR ran 11.8 at over 120 mph 100% stock

chime in on what you all think, Im very impressed and very jealous at the same time since my GT500 that cost me KR money at least msrp wise def will not run 11.8 stock.

 

I think Ford was fibbing about the 540hp and it is more like 600ish because most people get 500rwhp with the power mods the KR has (intake, tune, mufflers)

 

Perhaps Ford lightened the KR enough to actually impact performance or give it some wider stickier tires.

 

Ahhhhh, please tell me the parts in the KR can easily be duplicated on our cars!

 

Anyway, there has not been much infor or rumors in this KR forum so this should get something going.

Ford never said 540 HP. They said "at least 540" HP. At the time this info was first posted, I pointed out how our cars started at "at least 450" HP and ended up at 500. The same will happen here...we are just awaiting the final number....will it be 560 or will it be 620?

Those are awesome numbers for a test drive down the track. :happy feet: I hope they hold or get even better when production rolls around. Man, what a job driving new ponies out the stable. I bet it's hard to sleep at night thinking about the next days work.

Throw $1200 at your gt500, and you're there easily.

I don't and won't post at SVT Performance's website (too much fighting and too many trolls), so let me just summarize here that a 120 mph trap speed is indicative of a car that can run 11.20's in the 1/4 mile with solid traction. 11.8's tells me that traction is a huge issue on the tires on that KR.

 

Also, 120 mph trap speed in a car that weighs 3,900 (assuming a bit lighter than a GT500 and an average weight driver) suggests about 465 rwhp, which equates to about 550 hp at the crankshaft (given a 15% drivetrain loss). So, this tale of the KR running consistent 11.80's at 120 mph sounds totally legitimate to me.

Throw $1200 at your gt500, and you're there easily.

 

+ 1..............all we need is what the KR has, a CAI, a tune, and 3.73's...........and we end up with more hp than 540. CAI and tune is approx 500 rwhp so approx 560-570 crank. Yes, enough for 11's with decent traction

Sounds about right, lets see some footage please. I would bet $100.00 there is video if this is true. Scan some time slips.

Thats the problem! Shelby GT500 with KB stage 3 with H&M Drag Radials, Couldn't get the power to the ground, sucky 60' time, 11.3 @ 133mph. Work in progress! Bill

I'd bet I could put your car in the 10's on the first pass down the track with a 26-28" ET street (Hell I know I could do it on the M&H DR). All you need is some good driving.

I know the GT500 is great and all but I don't think many are running 11s on stock tires with even 500-550rwhp, or are they??????

 

tune, axle back, 1 piece d/s and road race suspension, which make's the car much more difficult to launch. on 17" DR's

 

11.89 @ 119.7

 

added 3.73's and a cai, but lost 6 ribs off my belt.

the original metco pulley chewed up my belt b/c it was too lose and came off, but that wouldn't stop me from racing. I couldn't get a replacement belt in time and the metco pulley would not stay on the blower, so I put the stock pulley back on, thus no need for the metco idler.

true...but the KR has an upgraded coil over susp. package too I think.

I heard about your joy ride with fourcam, I wish I could take a ride to see what Im in for and how to properly drive them!

I would bet he just has the tune intake and pulley - I was right there too 561. Added headers and exhaust and didn't pick up the power I wanted but conditions were much worse for dyno pulls. Sounds great and breathing is much better - I also threw in the 373's at the same time and it scoots now.

 

 

Just got the 26" ET Streets too so now I need to get back to the track!

those are all my power mods, I have not had my exhaust installed yet.

 

Good choice on seats...should be a nice weight drop if installed in the GT500 (50-70lbs at least) b/c the stock seats are HEAVY!

 

Yeah, Andy and I went for a little trip around Chicago. I was taking an offramp with a nice 3 turn set (right, left, right), as I was heading to the last turn at 90, he said "how fast were you going?" [refering to the last turn]...with a little shrill in his voice. I told him I wasn't looking down, but about 75-80. This is the Eastbound Ohio street exit for those who know Chicago. Then we turned back around and went through another set of turns, as I was coming out of the apex I was going a little too fast for the tires and all 4 broke loose, I quickly corrected and kept hammering through the turn. I think he left a deposit on my seat though. :hysterical2:

I would like to think Carroll and company are smart enough to compensate for the extra rwhp by installing wider,stickier meats in the back of the SuperSnake. I don't think he'll leave that issue unattended. ;) Otherwise it defeats the purpose.
