High idle problem

Recommended Posts

yes. i have experienced that on my 2006 mustang GT and determined it was related to an aftermarket tuner. recently saw this happen on my 2007 GT500, but since it's running a Ford Racing tune, i think it may be related to my alternator going bad. i was having starting issues so i recently bought a new battery. still had the issues so in testing i noticed that my alternator is undercharging. haven't replaced it yet, but my theory is that the computer is compensating for the lower voltage by over-revving slightly. i am no mechanic or electrician so this is purely a guess.
