Hi guys ;)

some news, my friend in south carolina who had ordered for me in april, received last week my dash plaque with my vin number engraved!! :worship::drool:

i ask him to send me together with the adapter and the dash plaque a set of SS brake lines, so he's searching a good set of stainless steel brakes lines...not sur for the choice (russels? stoptech? or TPS?)

i also like the look (and the mechanical interest) with a brake cooling kit, but help me in the choice please...

the ford racing with shelby bezels?

the ford racing with standard bezels?

the JLT with JLT bezels?

the JLT with shelby bezels?

may be it's better if i ask in the brake section?

thanks for your help ;)

hi guys...

i'm so busy at work, that it's difficult to find the time...

So there is some news

End of july:

i've fit the rear white side marker with red bulb.

and i go to the mechanic to do the change oil filter etc...And it put on the car the front white turn signal, and he make a good job on the rear wireless (not sure of the word) for my rear turn signal: in France it MUST be ORANGE, and when the car come in France 5 years ago for the previous owner, the job by the garage was not good, the turn signal where in the rear lamp, and the flashing was very fast etc...

So a very good adress in france with my new mechanic (1 hour from home)

i've few weeks ago order the tank exchanger 3X capacity at revanracing, at after he email me because as he don't use USPS he was asking about 150 or 200$ for shipping only that, so we cancel the order, very good communication with him!!

Now i'm tempted for something else...

JLT brake colling kit with clear bezels and TPS SS brakes lines with RBF600, and a 3X capacity heat exchanger tank (worry there is not the tank at JLTPERFORMANCE)...

so I'm waiting a shipping cost request from lethalperformance (probably 80$ with USPS international but wish 50$)

Jerome,

Glad to see you are enjoying the car! You are a patient man in dealing with the frustration and the costs of overseas shipping. If you are still looking for SS brake lines I recommend the ones from Goodridge - I think they are manufactured in UK so you may find these in Europe easier. The FRPP brake cooling kit may be your best bet among available choices & you may be able to find it from a European distributor as well.

Have fun!

hi Guys...

sorry i'm late, but i was on holiday these last 3 weeks...

I think you have an awsome car that I can only wish to own.

it's easier for you than for me...and more cheap for you...

Some news...

i've just order saturday few things...

2007-2009 Shelby GT500 Rear Letter Template: http://www.stuckonyougraphics.com/GT500RearLetters.asp

roush stock look intercooler reservoir with 3X capacity: http://www.lethalperformance.com/07-09-shelby-gt500/cooling/intercooler-reservoirs/lethal-performance-2007-2012-gt500-oversized-stock-look-intercooler-reservoir.html

Stainless Steel Brake Lines from TPS: http://www.tpsmotorsports.com/mustang-2005-2009/brakes/brake-accessories/tps-mustang-stainless-steel-brake-lines-05-12-4-wheel-abs.html

a Shelby performance adjustable on-car panhard bar: http://www.lethalperformance.com/07-09-shelby-gt500/suspension/panhard-bars-and-braces/shelby-performance/shelby-adjustable-panhard-bar.html

don't need this immediatly, because i still don't know what to choose for shocks struts ans springs...but when i'll decide , i'll already have the panhard

just to let you know, i've ask a french guy living in the USA order for me (USPARTSFORYOU), and he'll ship in an anonimus package, like that it's easy to don't have to add the french VAT and custom (20%+10%)

but you know, for all my order for you in the usa it cost 563$ shipped without discount code (coupon), so about 530$ shipped using the discount code, and with the shipping USPS to france it's about 580€ so around 783$, so there is a big difference...and these items are not really heavy, imagine for a suspension package or a 4 wheels set...

About a suspension package...i'm still with the oem, and what about this one??? Ford Racing Shelby GT500 Handling Kit M-18000-G

please i need your advice and reviews (feedback)

another package is better in similar price?

like to have steeda spring as they lower the rear a little more from the front, but with shocks and sturt to choose...

so i don't know what to look for...

cheers guys ;)

I've got the FRPP springs on my car and love them, but like you said, they leave the rear a little higher in the back then the front. I know a lot of guys who have went with the Eibach proline and are happy with them, but I'm not familiar with the Steeda's. As far as shocks....just about everybody is happy with the Tokico D specs.

Hope that helps!

Thanks for your advice ;)

anyone else??

i use is WE drive, on nice moutain road...and only one track / year

so between these:

1: http://www.cjponyparts.com/eibach-pro-system-suspension-kit-gt500-coupe-2005-2010/p/EPS9/ about 620$

2: http://www.cjponyparts.com/ford-racing-handling-kit-gt500-coupe-2007-2012/p/M18000G/ about the same price 620$

witch 1 or 2 is the best combo??

and after if i go to tokico it's more expansive

3:

http://www.lethalperformance.com/07-09-shelby-gt500/suspension/shocks-and-dampers/tokico-gt500-d-spec-adj-shock-and-strut-kit-front-and-rear.html

+

http://www.lethalperformance.com/07-09-shelby-gt500/suspension/springs/steeda/steeda-2011-2012-shelby-gt500-sport-springs-coupe.html

total is about 1050$

or

4: http://www.championmustang.com/modern/0712-shelby-gt500-super-snake-eibach%C3%82%C2%AE-pro-streets-coilover-kit-54l-p-968.html about 1090$

3 or 4 is the best??

and the price from 1 or 2 VS 3 or 4, is really justify?? of course solution 3 or 4 is better than 1 or 2 but it's near the double of the price

May be should i ask in the good section: http://www.teamshelby.com/forums/index.php/forum/239-brakes-

Hi Jerome

I can't help you with the shocks and strut choice, but do have a suggestion for you.

If you lower your car, you should be picking up something like this as well, to correct the lca geometry:

http://www.bmrsuspension.com/?page=products&productid=170

The BMR units are bolt in units, that can also be welded in if desired, and are available from may resellers.

I notice Lethal carries a set, but they do not list whether they are bolt-in or not, you can email them and confirm that though.

http://www.lethalperformance.com/2013-2014-shelby-5-8-l-gt500/2013-shelby-gt500-suspension-1/2013-shelby-gt500-control-arms-1/2013-shelby-gt500-lower-control-arms-1/whiteline-performance/whiteline-performance-2005-mustang-lower-control-arm-relocation-brackets.html

If you car is mostly a street car, the bolt-ins are probably the best choice for you.

The adjustable panhard bar you are considering is a nice touch even on a stock vehicle, as it allows you to perfectly center the rear end.

If you lower the back end at all, you will definitely have to adjust the panhard again to re-center the rear end.

Just noticed that Shelby carries a bolt-in style as well:

when i'll lower the car, i want only a small lowering (around 1"2 1"3 front and 1"4 1"5 rear)...so may be not necessary to use LCA relocation braket...

but I'd think about (probably if i go with it's will be BMR)...

For the moment i have absolutly no wheel hop.

i didn't understand the différence with bolt in or not ???

And for the lowering, i'm not sure it's a good idéa using my stock damper with only buying new lower springs...

and i don't know if it's possible to use the OEM LCA with the relocation bracket or if i need change also the LCA ?

Even at stock height, the relocation brackets can make a difference, and they definitely will if you lower the car at all.

It is more of a drag strip or race track modification though, if you drive only on the street you can try running without them.

The bolt-in ones can be installed by just bolting them on, and then you can still remove them later on if you want.

If you get a set welded on, it is more of a permanent install and will be much harder to remove later on.

You can still use your oem LCAs if you want, but the aftermarket ones offer better strength, looks and performance with their improved materials, designs and polyurethane bushings (and/or mechanical joints).

Usually LCAs are one of the first things to change on a car like yours, launch it hard on a good traction surface and you will see why.

I am currently running a set of Steeda LCAs and they do look and work well, but I wish they had grease fittings installed on them:

http://www.steeda.com/store/steeda-mustang-billet-lower-control-arms.html

The LCAs that Shelby offers look as good as they get, and they also have the grease fittings on them.

http://www.shelbystore.com/product-p/z-aca004.htm

If you want a heavy duty high HP & Torque no-frills performance LCA, you will want something like these:

http://vmptuning.com/07-12-gt500-suspension/23942/

Another option is to upgrade the rubber bushings in your oem LCAs to poly ones, but that it is a bit of work and they will not look nowhere near as sharp as some of the aftermarket offerings.

The oem ones are a stamped steel piece, and will not have the torsional strength of an I-beam or tubular designed LCA.

I agree, the Bobs LCAs are nice units, and are some of the beefier billet ones I have seen so far.

I notice they also have the grease nipples on each end too, and the price on them is decent.

There are so many good parts available for most popular vehicles, it makes it hard to decide which one to go with.

It is kind of a nice problem to have though.
