I screwed up...HELP!

Cobra 6

Recommended Posts

Sooo, there I was...short notice PCS overseas to Germany :salute: , one and a half months AFTER I purchased my new 2012 Shelby (SVTPP, Black, stripe delete, nav, recaro's, flowmaster outlaw/axle back and 5% tint). Thought, no problem...I've been stationed overseas before, I'll get her registered and store till the summer then take her out on the Autobahn, etc....NOPE...damn German vehicle inspection requirements stonewalled me.

No tint on the windows, exhaust was too loud (db's had to be lower than 92 at 3K rpm's) and I needed winter tires JUST TO STORE HER!!! I was not happy (to say the least) :rant2: . Looked at storing her for 2 years which would have cost me a few thousand dollars...so, I made a decision I deeply regret :censored::rant:

I sold her :cry::cry::cry:

NOW...I'm on a mission to get that lovely feelin' back and I'm reaching out to my fellow forum members to give me some much needed advice.

I'm looking for a Black w/stripe delete or matte black stripes, SVTPP (track pkg nice, not req'd), electronic's pkg, recaro's.

This said, shop around (which I've already started doing) for a '13 or opt for a '14??

Any input/advice is greatly appreciated...oh and please don't add insult to injury...yes, I screwed up but I can (and do :banghead::banghead::banghead: ) kick my own ass for the mistake, don't need your assist for that! :stop: LOL

Thanks!

At this point in time with the 14's ready to be ordered, get with a good dealer and place your order.

Don't take any chances in trying to find one.

By ordering you will get exactly what you want. Provided it works for your budget.

Best wishes overseas. Stay safe.

JNF, much appreciated.

I've found a few ('13's) that have what I'm looking for; I guess the follow on to my initial post is that from what I'm reading there aren't any earth-shattering changes from '13 to '14, unlike my '12 to '13's. As you mentioned money is always a player, finding a '13 w/what I'm looking for may leave a lighter dent on the pocket that building a '14??

Haven't seen pricing for the 14, but I don't know of any increases.

I would gladly set you up with the out of state dealer I worked with.

Worked with the GM directly. He is also a regional director right here on TS, and has a true love for the Shelby car.

13 or 14, you won't regret it.

Tried that...interesting thing about Shelby's and AAFES New Car Sales.

Basically they do a drawing (in essence a lottery). Your name goes in a hat and if your the lucky one drawn, you got it. I think they have three a year and pull two or three per drawing. Far from a sure shot on availability or savings (when you consider it) as compared to other makes (Ford/all others, Chrysler, Jeep, Ram, Dodge).

Wish it were that easy! Lol

I've extended my services to all on this board before, and for you I would be happy to do all I can to get you the car you want. I don't sell any of my cars with any ADM, and I personally oversee each car delivered (like it were my own). I'm only involved with the SVT and Shelby American products - no Focus, C-Max or Explorers. Only performance Ford products. Let me know if I can help.

Ingram4868, lucky to be in Germany? Sure, it's a good gig. I'm at 17 years in total, however as I pointed out in my original post, I didn't put in for these orders; instead I got "selected" (LMAO). That can be good and I'm sure it is but the "order of things" got screwed up (not to mention me selling my '12 Shelby), so I'm having to regroup, no worries though, I'll get there!

At any rate, it's a two year tour for me (unaccompanied). We'll see how things are lookin' after my first year, promotion/commanders board, etc., could end up being a three year gig. And yes, I will be looking to have her shipped to me.

Thanks for the reply!

I think I saw your add in DuPont Registry this month, I was curious what the "white glove treatment" plan was?

Finding some '13's Black w/stripe delete a/o matte black stripes for $66-$67K, SVTPP and Track, electronics, Recaro's......hmmmmmmmm.

there are 102 black coups and verts avail on cars.com, many listed at MSRP but sometimes there is ADM when you actually speak to the dealer:

I used Cars.com and AutoTrader to locate my car. In my experience, MOST of the cars listed (regardless of price shown) had ADMs (ranging from $5K to $20K) when I contacted the dealers.

So glad you asked. Every Shelby American, SVT GT500, Boss 302 and Raptor that arrives at Rich is inspected by me first, personally, before it ever rolls off the truck - not just for major issues but just as if I owned the car. It is never run through a mechanical washer, I have my own crew hand-wash each car then carefully detail it both inside and out. The cars get 99% pure nitrogen in the tires, cycled twice (no extra charge), and an owner's basket of car-care products and documentation. The cars are then taken directly to the showroom or delivery area where they are locked and surrounded by ropes. If the car is headed out of state, I am there when they load the truck. No one is allowed to touch a car that is sold. I also upload several personalized photos to the Sync library for the owner, and lastly I am always there for delivery. Together we inspect the car and I hand over the keys. I also am available for post-sales consultations regarding upgrades, maintenance, performance driving and anything else the new owner may want or need. We have our own shop and dyno and we even offer museum delivery (zero prep) if they so desire. My job does not end at delivery, I am always available to discuss any aspect of the cars and provide ongoing support. Oh, and did I mention there is no additional cost for this service? There you have it....

Who are you? What do you do? What is the nature of your business? I tried to look at your Facebook and it had a lot of INCREDIBLE posts, but I still failed to see what you do. Are you like a seller of used Hot Mustanges or What? I was so confused.

I think other Ford dealers need to come see you for lessons on how to sell a car.

I have several hats, but most relevant to this post is my position as Director of Special Promotions and SVT/Shelby Specialist at Rich Ford. I work with only the performance products and I help promote them nationally. I have a background in film, marketing and racing and I've owned too many Mustangs to count. The focus of our new website and Facebook site is to both promote and enlighten the performance Ford segment, with new videos, help topics, events and unique products - and of course Shelby/SVT cars & trucks, delivered in a manner a true enthusiast expects. My advantage? I own, drive, test, promote and support only the products I work with, and I enjoy the community of others with the same interests.

Ahhh Ok Got it. So you help out the Dealer in those regards. I just wondered because you often tout the "White Glove" delivery, so I wasn't sure if you worked for or with a dealer or as an aftermarket type of deal. I apologize for thread Jacking--I realy shouldn't have I coulda just PM'd you. Sounds good though.

Anyway. As a reply to the OP, I am not sure you "Screwed Up" I think you just made a decision at the time and it proabbly seemed right. Hope you get into a 13 or a 14 if you like, I have been really excited about the 15 lately and I NEED more info on that. I could see myself trading in my 2013.

Thanks, looking like I'll be pulling the trigger on a '13. Need to weigh my options here...'13 vs. '14. Won't go wrong either way, just trying to make a calculated decision here!
