Sometimes it's not only about being fast, it's about having fun. I love driving a standard shift car. No way you'd get me to buy a hi-perf auto unless my left leg had to be amputated.

Well I only had 275 miles on her when I got to the track and with street tires it

was like driving on ice. But I had a very good time and made 20 passes with the

traction control on. Here is the best I did and the LCA are the only mod to the susp.

OK - had a blast at the track today. I made a bunch of runs and got better for the most part as the day went on. I had a few low 13's sadly but due to missed shifts and one really bad launch where I just spun through the 1st 2 gears.

 

I had a number of 12.4 - 12.6's and a 12.3, 12.2, and my best run was the last of the day as is listed below. I'll scan the slip asap but I really really need the tires. I was breaking loose in the cool morning air in the middle of 3rd and going slipping around. The suspension did a great job...by the end of the day I launched well in the staging area from all the rubber but still spun hard if not careful. My best 60' was a 1.96 and I had a 1.98 too but all the rest were over 2.0 - I ran about 20 times today Was there all day from about 9am - 5pm and had a blast. Line locks and tires just elevated on my rainy day priority list. I never managed to put all of my best of everything together but here is the best run of the day:

updated, head out to byron, it's a much better track than US41. I got a fat ticket on my way to US41 from Chicago, to only get there and run shitty times b/c they didn't prep the track and that is when my trans started acting up.

They prepped it 2 times for us today but it cost each time. The club paid for it but many of the guys really running fast cars said it wasn't that good. I wouldn't know as it was my first time ever on a track. I had a great time. Ran a lot and the car seemed to have no issues....but on street tires it just spun if you for on it hard early. I didn't think it was a bad set up at all - not new by any means but I would go back.

 

Where is Byron?
