SS carbon fiber splitter

K so I have a problem and am torn on what to do about it.

I could go with the shelby ss cf splitter and use that for my 13, or I could wait for trufiber to make their splitter that includes the additional splitter the 13 has. But as always with trufiber's stuff their cf is not nearly as good, there will be flaws, and most likely fitment problems.

Which do you guys think is the right path to take here?

I am not a huge fan of CF splitters, but that said, I would wait. It seems the new design really played a big role in stability for the front end and for downforce. So, I think it will be much better to have one modeled after the 2013 factory splitter.

Well Jamal said it makes the car more stable at speeds over 130 or 140 something like that. So I mean its not like I'm going 130 every day. But again I wanted opinions.

There is a big difference in how the splitter drops down between the Shelby piece and Trucarbon. The Trucarbon splitter sticks out fairly flat, where the Shelby splitter actual drops much lower. This would allow Trucarbon to add the air damn to their splitter as the factory does. The Shelby splitter would be on the ground on a car with a suspension drop if you added the air damn portion to the splitter.

Look at trucarbon's website pictures of the gold car with KR hood and you'll see how flat their splitter is

I'd buy the Shelby splitter, but I'm also reluctant to purchase due to the complaints from the guys that can't purchase a replacement splitter for road damage of the 07-09 SS splitter now

Wait it sits lower? I just thought the splitter came out more. How much lower does the splitter sit? I am not dropping my car at all, I am keeping stock height. But could it have rubbing issues? Right now with my 13 with the additional air damn on I have no rubbing issues.

It seems to sit pretty high in these pictures.

The pictures of the trucarbon splitter, looking at trucarbon's website, look as if the splitter comes straight out from the bottom of the fascia. The Shelby splitter look as if it drops slightly in comparison to be lower to the ground. I think the factory splitter and air damn combo is lower than either of these splitters.

I believe so. Right now on my car I have 6 inches of clearance. The only trouble I have was getting into my work basement garage which I scrapped the very tip of the bottom air damn on the corner a tiny bit. So because of that I park one level higher which sucks because its not fully enclosed to cars that park on the side since the middle is reserved.

I was hoping since this splitter is higher or should be at least then it will look good and I can park in the basement garage again lol. Plus the thing with trucarbon's is it looks flat exactly like the stock splitter. I like how the SS shows the fins more and comes out more. It doesn't hide as much. If thats the proper way to describe it.

I've had the Shelby SS splitter on my car for about 5 months now. Have not had any clearance issues but yes it does appear to come down a little lower than the factory splitter. Didn't even think about measuring the old splitter and the new one to compare clearance. I also have the Eibach pro-street kit on the car. Have not even touched the splitter once. As long your careful and know how to get in and out of steep driveways you should be fine.

Have you had any discoloration?
