blackonblack
In case you need a nice installation of your radar detector in your new GT500, I would recommend a Blendmount and using the Invisicord to power the detector. Here are a couple of links to the specific web site. An for the wiring...on the rear view mirror plug, the yellow/black is ground and the blue is switched power. Got mine installed this morning and its so clean and looks great. http://www.invisicord.com/index.html http://www.blendmount.com/?gclid=CK7808L34rACFcleTAodVHEb1w
Tikigrill
Hey BLACK! Do you have a guy in Houston who does the install or do you do it yourself? I'm new to Houston so I don't really know anybody yet. I have a good tint guy up in Spring but that's it.
Grabber
The blendmount company also sells what they call the mirror wire tap which looks to be the same as the invisa chord. I have a install thread on it: http://www.teamshelb...ost__p__1300309
Grabber
Looking at the fused invisa Chord, it is the same price as the Blendmount fused mirror tap. $29.95. I personally like the braided cover on the blendmount model verses the plastic cover on the invisa chord. http://store.blendmo...stang-p469.aspx http://www.mirrortap.com/

svt13
Wow and I thought if I had to go radar detection it woud have to be the 9500ci. I will definitely be getting this in the next month. Actually on second note. If we ever do get pulled over then we can't hide the fact that we have this if we are driving in states that don't allow radar detectors. blackonblack
No...it has leads that stick into the back of the plug on the rear view mirror. One in ground (black/yellow wire) and on in a switched positive (blue). Easy peasy to install.

blackonblack
so what do you do if you get pulled over in a state ur not suppose to have one in? I don't know and don't care. These cars , IMO, are not cars built for traveling. Texas does not have a "no radar detector" law, so within the state and also most of the states surrounding Texas , I am fine. You can still remove the radar detector. Simply unplug the rj11 jack and take the radar detector out of the mount. I have a Valentine 1 and there are no issues. I'm wondering because when I go to the beach its in a state where its not allowed. In my state it is allowed. And what do you mean these cars aren't built for traveling?? There are so many people that picked up their cars 800 miles away from their homes and drove them back. These cars are actually PERFECT for traveling. Fun, comfortable, fast, and fuel efficient. And if you have the glass roof....welll, what more do you want?

farmboy90
Dang, how about this? http://www.roguerada...com/Escort.html It is only $45, looks as good as a blendmount, and that price includes the mirror tap wire!! By the way, can anyone with a 2013 confirm the diameter size of the rear view mirror stem? If I go with the rogue mount, my size options are 3/4" or 7/8". I assume it is the 7/8" right? Snoopy49
From the ad: Mirror Stem Size/Circumference: 3/4" = 0.240" Diameter 7/8" = 0.278" Diameter This is assuming the stem is round.

Ok...the way I read that is the stem is 3/4" long and 0.240" in circumference. Usually when 2 specifications are separated by a " / " the values that follow are respective to either side of the " / ". At least that is the way I read it.... Snoopy49
3/4" is the circumference and 0.240" is the diameter. The circumference of a circle is the length around it. The diameter is the distance from one end of the circle to the other through the center.

Mirror Stem Size/Circumference = The circumference of the mirror stem. Mirror Stem Size/Diameter -= The diameter of the mirror stem. Mirror Stem Size/Length = The length of the mirror stem. Cobra99
Hey guys quick question. I live up north in Canada and wondering? how do I get this and the 9500ix with Escort Live shipped here for a decent price. Everywhere I go they want an arm and a leg for shipping. The Ecort site has the best price(Plus free shipping) but doesn't ship to Canada, and the only place here wants close to $800. Any advice would help. farmboy90
Amazon won't ship there? The 9500ix is the best radar detector IMO. I absolutely love mine. Worse case, buy one and ship it to me, and I will then drop it in the mail to you. eBay has some too. Here is one that ships to Canada: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-ESCORT-RADAR-9500iX-LIMITED-EDITION-9500iX-RED-EDITION-9500iXRED-/271006679087?pt=US_Radar_Laser_Detectors&hash=item3f1941c02f
