Andrew DeSpirito Posted May 31, 2012 Report Share Posted May 31, 2012 I was re-reading the book The Ford Shelby GT500 by Larry Edsall yesterday, and found this quote in the foreward by Carroll Shelby: "But we still need the Special Vehicle Team, too. We need new engines. We need a 650-horsepower Mustang. The Camaro and the Challenger are coming, and they are coming after the Mustang big time. We need to send the message that we're on top—and that we're staying on top." The foreward is dated April 2007. I wonder when work started on the 2013 GT500? Carroll was right on the money!
