evoviiiyou
Has anyone taken some hi temp engine paint to the HE and radiator? I wonder if this effects the performance of the cores and certainly would help clean up the look when adding the front 13 grills.

evoviiiyou
At $14.99 per 12oz can for gloss or semi makes this a no brainer mod. Thanks jskup1 going to pick up a few cans for my CR HE and my radiator. Should clean it up nicely with the addition of the 13 grills
2sharpie
A member on TheMustangSource is waiting for the lower grille on order......but here is a combo pic of new and old............I think if you put the brake duct bezels on the lower it would look pretty bad ass. Thoughts?????
jskup1
Looks good! The only thing I don't like about putting the brake bezels on the '10s-'12's is that you have to trim the ends of them off, as to where they are more centered in the earlier ones. Thoughts????? I really like the SVT logo like he has it. I think I'll have to make one and put a black SVT on my aluminum radiator. Maybe even go with the open top/closed bottom since I already have a set of the Shelby brake ducts in my 2010 and FRPP 3" ducting/plates on my Shelby/Baer brakes (which I'd lose with a open lower). I need a supercharger installed...grilles, etc. lol. Wish you were nearby, I would gladly pay you to work on my car.
Crushinator
I don't like the mixed grille. However, I like the SVT logo painted on the radiator. Same here. Since the lower is backordered I was going to have them send the upper grill and just install that for now. But I decided to wait until they had both to do the job one time. After seeing the pic, I'm glad I waited. Just doesn't look right. The black plastic looks to be a different color. Could just be the angle though. 2010KonaBlueGT
Phil.......I guess this is what he wanted to say......it wont fit so well like yours!! The bezels won't fit all the way around. All you have to do is off-set the bezel a tad. You'll see a slight cresent of the part you're showing behind the bezel I'm not sure if you can do the same with a JLT bezel or not. If they stick out the back side into the spigot, you wouldn't be able too. The Shelby bezels fit flush on the back side of the grill and you could mount them 4 inches from the hole, if you so desired. Phill

patrickshelby
After showing retrofit of the nice 2013 grilles on 10'-12' GT500's, why is nobody asking the question "why is the hood vent not an open one... also?" The open grilles are meant to aid cooling and to add front downforce...but what comes in must come out! Is anybody going the full OPEN route? I could imagine cutting the mesh out, then having a body shop smooth the edges and paint the plastic flat black to match the grilles, spoiler and splitter (or paint all to have a perfect finish match). Crushinator
I finished my '13 front end transformation today. You guys were right, removing the front end is no big deal. I figured I'd need help but decided to go for it myself. Wasn't difficult at all. It's amazing how flimsy and light the front end is once you have it off. The hardest part of the whole thing was getting the lower grill out. The top one popped out pretty easy, bu the bottom one was a stubborn SOB. Once I found the right tool, it was a snap. If you do this, get yourself a paint can opener to pry back the little tabs that hold the grill on. Makes it very easy to pull them back and push on the tabs on the grill itself and they pop right through. Burning Blue, you're more than welcome to come to my house some Saturday and we'll get your front end done. Together, we can probably have it done in an hour. Unless I drink too much beer, then it may take all day. haha

Crushinator
One last thing, on the lower sides I decided to cut off those brake cooling ducts instead of painting them. You have to be careful because at the bottom of each is a tab to hold the grill on. Just cut around it and leave the tab opening.

Snoopy49
For some reason, I thought the bumpers where also replaced. Must be the oldstimers kicking in. :o That's what I get when I read a lot of different posts, they all tend to run together. The post I was thinking about when I read this one was Amigos "Bumper and Tail Lights from 2013" post and I got a mental image of unpainted bumpers.
