2nd2none
Oh I see. I didn't know they all had the 5.4 engine. I thought they started doing that for 2010 thats why it was 540 hp. If they all had the FGT engine then why did 07-09 only have 500 hp? I'm not 100% sure but I believe its because the 10+ come with the cold air intake that pulls air in from the front grill area which the 07-09s don't and they started using knock sensors in 2010s which allowed them to tune it more aggressively. Put a new intake and tune on the 07-09s and same tune with the 2010 and the numbers should be similar

Also I'm wondering how much more money would you guys be willing to pay for 2 identical shelbys? But the only difference being one has the SS hood the other has stock hood

Completely changed the look of the car and looks SO much more aggressive now. Man that looks fantabulous. I sure would like to have one for my '12 GT500. . . . But the only difference being one has the SS hood the other has stock hood Actually the 5.4 DOHC engine was used 2007-2012 starting at the 500hp level, then 540 in 2010 (<<Same HP as 2008/09 GT500KR) and 550hp in 2011-2012. It wasn't until 2013 that it went to 5.8 DOHC and 662hp. As far as I know, now the 2007-2009 Shelby Super Snake hoods are no longer CAI functional. They were in the beginning and there were some air flow issues and a few revisions in the CAI area. Also as far as I know, the 2010-up uses the oem Ford snorkel along side the radiator feeding air to the open element CAI filter. <<<Interestingly enough, the 2008/2009 GT500KR also had a FRPP open element CAI, the regular production 2007-2009 GT500 had a closed air cleaner box. So I wonder how much the open filter that was a Ford production item on the 2010 and a Shelby installed item on the 2008/09 KR contributed to the 540hp that was rated for all three of these years, along with a tune for that open CAI? Other than that, the S/C's were the same, the pulley diameters were the same, the 2007-2010 all had the smaller 2.50" exhaust compared to the 2011-up 2.75".
