Grabber Posted May 13, 2012 Author Report Share Posted May 13, 2012 Today Tana and I jumped on our Harley Davidson RoadKing Classic and drove the "drive" that we will all be taking during the Meet and Greet. I wanted to make sure nothing was wrong with the roads and that there was no construction. I am happy to report that everything is perfect. You guys are going to love the drive. B) When we went up there last May....we had the entire parking lot at the view point to ourselves. I guess the fact that this area is not over crowded and way up in the boonies has it's benefits. ps don't forget to look at the pic's on page 7. They turned out well ! B) This is our second time doing a preview drive and both times we had NO ONE behind us after we got passed the ape caves. There is another not so curvy route coming in from the other side. Grabber Posted May 19, 2012 Author Report Share Posted May 19, 2012 Status update. We are one week out from the event. The Pacific NW has not had rain in about 12 days straight. Setting a record for this month from what I heard. The rain comes back on Monday and we have showers for a week. Some of the forecasts show it dry for our Sat. event. Some show show that we may have a few sprinkles. The last 2 years we have had this same threat and the event still turned out a big success. I have recently had 5 people cancel due to there own personal reasons. I have also had new people sign up so our car count is still at 60 cars. I have made arrangements with the band to set up a couple portable awnings outside that they can play under in case it sprinkles or provide protection from the sun. The food vendor is getting the food menu prepared and shopping this week and I have sent her the head count. I have just added up all the bills for the event and with everybody paid (except 2 new RSVP's) including my no refund policy....the event is fully funded including providing lunch for the 5 piece band members. I have an extra $34 dollars in reserve funds. Hi Rob, It look like Saturday will be a great turnout and I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again. Lunch does include a beverage, but we will have extras on hand. Along with the traditional burgers, I'm adding Chicken Caesar and Vegetarian Wraps. They are both very popular and delicious . We'll include salad, fruit, and chips with cowboy caviar salsa (another popular hit). Let's pray for good weather and a safe, wonderful day. That ties the record for most dry days in a row for the month of May. 0.07" was officially recorded at the airport Sunday and more will be expected for Monday. Rain will be heaviest this afternoon just ahead of a cold front. Portland will see a high of 62 degrees today. Even cooler tomorrow behind the cold front as the wet weather pattern continues for the rest of the work week. Once again, we are looking forward to a nice sunny and dry weekend forecast! I am also having stickers made for all the cars so we can put them in our back window in memory of Carroll.
