I already warned the wife that when SI puts a price tag on this hood, I'm buying! The signature head rest are also sweet. I wounder if SI will offer them up for a price? Things that keep me up at night :banghead:

Maybe they will offerthe headrests for our cars without the (KR) on them ?

If they put that hood on the market I'll be getting one, but I doubt they will.

This weekend the Jacob Javits Center in New York City was jammed. The photos taken from the show are not very professional looking. They may not even be good amatuer photos but if you can overlook the composition errors of the photos and concentrate on the content I think you will be impressed.

A few observations about the new Shelby GT500KR:

There are a couple of distinguishing characteristics of the '08 GT500KR that set it apart from the '07 GT500. There is the awesome hood of the GT500KR. It is a blend of styling cues from the original and the '07 GT500. New hood scoop inlets are pushed far forward reminding you of the view in your rear view mirror of a fast approaching '68. Likewise with the "Shelby" badge that is spelled out and centered along the front lip of the hood as well as the hold downs from the original. The '07 GT500 air extractors are pushed to the back of the hood in this version. But the overall domed shape of the hood looks like it remained intact from the '07 GT500.

The other distinguishing characteristic is the enormous 20 inch chrome wheels and the slightly lower profile 255/35 ZR Pirelli's. This new tire and wheel comibination and the lower stance of the KR is very appealing. The rest of the badging is tasteful and not overdone and the colors of the car at the show, silver with blue over the top stripes, were really accentuated by the lighting at the show as you will see in the photos and looked fantastic. Here they are from last night at the New York International Auto Show. Please enjoy. I did.

I really love the "ride height" on this car... Looks amazing in that stance. May need to lower my Red Coupe as well. The Hood is also pretty awesome.

Can't wait to see what the final product looks like later this summer!
