S8MS-01904
OK, who / what company actually manufactured the mufflers for these KR's? I gotta give the credit of the sound to somebody. Anybody know?
07SGT4578
The KR mufflers are Ford Racing Performance Parts p/n: M-5230-S They are actually made by Borla, the H pipe was also changed, but for the life of me I can't remember the guys name. stewarbc
Check out post #183 of this great thread. Grabber(Rob) is absolutely awesome at documenting what he does to the Mustangs. In fact, he helped me with my decision to put the KR mufflers on my SGT. http://www.teamshelby.com/forums/index.php/topic/69557-tanabananas-new-shelby-gt500/page__st__180
5spd07gt
If I recall the KR comes with a catted H pipe. The GT500 comes with a catted X. I am running the KR mufflers and wanted a little more sound so I bought the PHRP H which basically just replaces the stock X. You cut the X out and clamp the H in. It takes about 20min to install and sounds great. Here are 2 clips of my car with the KR mufflers and PHRP H pipe... Link to PHRP H pipe... http://powerhouserp....grammer,%20dyno Hope that answers your question.
awakeinAZ
I think the mid pipe change is pretty neccessary. I have the KR's but dont totally love the sound without the mid pipe change. Just my opinion.

S8MS-01904
Thanks everybody. I was aware of them being Ford Racing parts, but didn't know "who" really made them. +1 to the "H" pipe, it's needed for the "right" sound.
mullens
Yes that little addition totally changes the sound. Well worth it..
FiaCobra
I'm thinking of picking up an extra set of mufflers.
