I would stay away from chrome if you can. I say this because I have a set of aluminum rims which are chromed and the chrome has started to peel off the wheel. It seems that chrome does not adhere to aluminum like it does to steel. The chemical adhesion just isn't there and it is more or less held to the aluminum by the vacuum formed when the wheel was immersed in the chroming tank. It is just a matter of time once the chrome gets nicked or chipped or the aluminum underneath starts oxidizing that the chrome will peel. A polished aluminum rim can always be repolished at a fraction of the cost of having one rechromed. Just my 2 cents.
