It is not as obtrusive as I was expecting, though if it is only black, it may be much more obvious on a white or light colored car. Also with stripes it may be ugly. I don't think it's a Satellite antenna! If you look closer (blow up) it has a chrome antenna coming straight up from the black base which would indicate to me it is more of a commuications device like a CB radio (10-4) to talk to the other GT500's while they were driving down the highways in a group.
