THANKS FOR YOUR HELP I can't do a whole car, but I acid wash rusty steel parts all of the time. I use a product called acid magic which is a muriatic acid substitute that is safe to the skin. But immediately after it's removed from the acid it needs to be neutralized and treated to a hot iron phosphate treatment to prevent the rust from returning. It's a great way to remove rust! THANKS FOR YOUR HELP I had my '67 Shelby stripped by Redi-strip in Illinois. They use an alkaline instead of a acid process, plus they de-rust the car with a electrolysis process. All these Mustangs rust and I wanted it to be as rust free as possible. The car came out great, but there was some residual leaking of fluid that required the primer to be touched up. I would not use an acid dip, though. I have heard horror stories about acid dips.
cobrakidz
Can you soda blast the car then try and POR15 the inner panels? That will stop any rust issues you have.

S8MS-01904
Say NO to acid wash. Redi-strip maybe better, but I would talk to the painter cause stuff must be compatible as you only want to paint it once.
