Rev Dennis
When I look at Eibach, Ford racing and Steeda springs for the 07-09 GT500 it is indicated that they are for COUPES only. Is this a misprint? Is there a difference that would preclude them being installed on a vert?
dbackg
I have FRPP PART # M-5300-L on my vert. Rev Dennis
Thanks. Looks like that's my next mod. It seems from that chart that even though the vert is heavier than the coupe it has softer springs. No wonder it rides like a Cadillac! Gonna fix that! dbackg
Match the FRPP PART # M-5300-L springs with the Tokico D-spec shocks. Tokico D-Spec complete strut/shock kit: Part # DSP-12 http://www.maximummotorsports.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=309_341_319&products_id=
Rev Dennis
And why are we choosing M-5300-L vs the M-5300-K s?
dbackg
L vs K. L = 1.25" drop and designed for the GT500 K = 1.5" drop and designed for the Mustang GT, but works on the GT500. You will want to consider your size of tires too.
Rev Dennis
Thanks for the clarification. So I need the springs, shocks/struts, an adjustable panhard bar and shorter bump stops, is that correct? anything else? dbackg
Yes. Pretty much. All lowered mustangs need a panhard or watts link. Watts link: http://www.shelbystore.com/product-p/s7ma-5649.htm Panhard bar: http://www.shelbystore.com/product-p/z25-s5ma-4264-a.htm Panhard brace: http://www.cheperformance.com/CartGenie/prod-158.htm The panhard bar is only as good/strong as the upper panhard brace. Just trim the orange rubber bump stop with a knife or razor blade. Rev Dennis
"trim the orange rubber bump stop with a knife" Thanks. I saw that as an option. I did that in '79 when I lowered the front of a 1979 Corvette with 1973 HD springs and the snubbers got in the way too early. Appreciate all the input. Thanks! 08ragtop
Just to mention this. Steeda has springs specifically for the convertible. I just got a set. Haven't decided on shocks/struts yet.
FIAMike
Did you need to get it re-aligned after lowering? Thanks, FIA Mike
