eagledriver Posted October 2, 2011 Report Share Posted October 2, 2011 Not one of THOSE threads LOL... Basically I photo-documented the entire car when new (8.1 miles). So, after looking at all the photos, about 800 or so, I realized that the oil filter photo is missing. Does anyone have a photo of the original factory oil filter or can provide a detailed description of the factory one: Color, markings, bar codes? etc... This is simply for reference for future concours shows. Seeing all the variations from the '68KRs (filter, fog lights, etc...) got me thinking to document as much as possible now for later reference. eagledriver Posted October 3, 2011 Author Report Share Posted October 3, 2011 That's a good question. The original oil filter got discarded on my KR. Yep, so did mine which is why I am checking now. There are so many variations on the 68 KRs depending on build date etc and there isn't really a definative "2nd gen" reference yet for us. Trying to reduce the headaches a few years from now when challenged by a judge that says " Oh, no that marking was not put there by SAI". Our cars are a hundred times more complex and I forsee a nightmare with concours judging. Anyone else agree with IS? I just can't remember at all.
