Another oil question

I am not here to discuss the pros and cons of the uses of the Motorcraft 5w-50 versus other brands. Rather I am asking a little different question. I work in a parts store and got to looking at the Mobil 1 15w-50 oil bottle and got to pondering. It is labled as part of their performance line of oils and upon further investigating appears to meet the same specs as the Motorcraft oil The only real difference is ite weight which since we live in a cold climate the car sits all winter and only driven during the summer months anyway, the 15w vs the 5w should be immaterial. The plus is that we regularly put all the Mobil 1 on sale for $4.99/qt or less. So why not use this oil? I think the next sale I will lay some in.

I use the 10-40 Amsoil in mine. Only have 1500 on it but will be driving 2k next weekend in the heat.
