autoxstang
Hey guys I'm getting ready to install my FRPP springs and MM camber/caster plates and I noticed in the instructions that they recommend replacing the "strut-to-spindle mounting hardware" stating that "Ford considers this hardware as one time use". I was just curious as to how many people changed the bolts and nuts on the strut? If not is the hardware actually reuseable? Thanks in advance for all of your replies. 89Saleen215
MM has the best price for these (MMF-3) - unless you can find it cheaper at a dealer. They have a finer thread and a higher torque spec. I've used these when doing this job on both my cars.

Found this list of "one time" use hardware on another site, don't know if it is accurate as I haven't checked the part numbers. SteelTownStang
Just installed the FRPP springs only. No problems w/alignment. I do, however, have an adjustable panhard bar that had to be re-adjusted to align the rear axle. No camber/caster plates and reused the shock bolts with no issues. I installed the FR3 kit on my '10 GT500 and reused ALL of the factory fasteners without any problem what so ever. I did put Caster/Camber plates on the struts and they come with new locknuts so I did use those but on the spindle, I reused the factory bolts/nuts. They have what looks like blue lock-tite on them from the factory so if anything, put some more on to replace the factory goo. Phill

This information above is no longer accurate due to Ford changing the part numbers. The service manual is wrong. So someone else doesn't make the same mistake I just did, I'll update it. Why Ford still make the old nuts is beyond me but I can confirm due to the bolt not fitting in the nut Here are the upgraded part numbersue W714652-S439 (bolts) & W714653-S900 (nuts) The old part numbers: W709870-S439 (bolts) & W711091-S900 (nuts)
