dragbaron
Saw this on Ebay and I'm pretty sure it's not legit. I've contacted the seller and even gave him a brief history lesson on the '87 Shelby Lancer, but he swears it's the real deal. Maybe if enough people contact him, he'll change the listing before some less informed person makes a mistake! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180670483225&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT#full-history

The car is not a Shelby Lancer. The vin is not on the Shelby vin listing. It appears to be an 87 Lancer ES with the Shelby specific items installed (from #433?). But the engine is a T1 motor and the color is white. All 87 Shelby Lancers were red and came with the T2 engine. But for the $750, it might make a decent driver or parts car. shelbymotorsports
Yes its a scam. The VIN number, build date and car options do not match a real Whittier California built Shelby Lancer. So much for the sellers research he claims to have done. You can purchase a real Shelby Lancer for the same amount of money. Unfortunately the few Shelby parts on this car are not even worth the sellers opening bid of $750.00 Steve
dragbaron
I've tried to get him to correct the listing, but he won't budge. Hopefully, anyone looking for one of these cars will know what they are supposed to look like.
